Falls short in too many ways
Hugely disappointed. The first thing I noticed was the strap. Narrow and no substance. It is stiff, only about 1” and thin, certainly not designed for comfort. This was the dealbreaker for me. The front flap makes the bag hang forward and The pocket will not hold a large phone well. None of the pockets are quite long enough to hold a long envelope or deep enough for practical use (they’re only about half the depth of the bag). The main compartment is awesome with a zip pocket on each side. The magnet on the front flap works really well. I would try the Indie instead, but it has Velcro on the front flap and the magnet is so much better. I got the gravel color and it’s better than black for seeing inside but not great. I was so worried the fabric would not have enough substance compared to 500D, but it is good enough. I don’t know about other colors. Like you read everywhere, the workmanship on this bag is superior. It is the design that falls so short. If you’re going to sell a bag of superior quality why fall short on the quality of the strap. And for that matter why put a different color strap on the other color choices??? The zip pocket on each side of the main compartment and the excellent magnetic snap were a pleasant surprise. Everything else was a huge disappointment.

Bag Is Awesome, Strap Need Improvement
I bought this to downsize from a heavy leather mom bag. The bag itself is perfect: lightweight and streamlined, with plenty of easily accessible and hidden pockets for all my daily needs. The strap is not practical for two flaws: 1) the quick-release clamshell-like buckle on the strap quick releases constantly and with very little pressure, so much so that I had to sew the strap in position to stop it from sliding. 2) the two buckles that attach the strap to the bag should be alternated male/ female, so that the bag buckles can snap together when the strap is removed, creating a shorter bag handle. Then the strap itself could buckle together and serve a dual purpose to secure to something else if needed.

Awesome Bag
I bought this bag last month and it’s amazing! The size is perfect the color (I got Magenta) is beautiful. I get so many compliments when I’m out and about. It’s my new go to bag for everyday! Customer service at Mystery Ranch can’t be beat.

Decent upgrade from the A5
I bought an A5 for my wife that she carried for about 3 years straight, everyday, in and out of it like a normal purse. I was excited to see the upgraded “ska” with a full length flap and new colors. My only disappointment was not seeing the 500d. I ended up getting the black since that was made with Robic nylon and has a similar feel and wear properties of 500d. Like I said, the full flap is a welcome upgrade and even better is the new magnet closure for the flap vs the old Velcro which tends to fuzz out over years of daily tearing. The quality of construction is typical Mystery Ranch immaculateness, and for the record, the old A5 is as good as new minus a few coffee stains. Mystery Ranch gear is top notch, and the only thing that is lacking in the new Ska is more colors in Robic or 500d are needed/desired.

Not to big and not to small, but just right.
Bought this for my wife who has been trying to find a nice medium sized bag that fits the necessities, but not the full mother load. She likes it so I consider that a win.

Decent murse
I wanted a small murse everyday bag that a) wasn't a waist pack b) wasn't overly tacticool and c) wasn't too big since I have relatively short walking commute and neither need nor want something big, and this fits the bill. There are four zip pockets (two in the main pocket, one under the flap on the back, and one on the front of the flap), which hold my EDC, allowing the main pocket to hold incidentals.

Excellent Product
I really love this bag. It is incredible how much it can hold for its size. The pockets are placed very thoughtfully and it is very handy.
