New Version Is a Downgrade.
First and foremost - this isn't a "they changed things, and I don't like change" I've been everywhere with the previous version of the Rip Ruck 24. It's been my favorite pack by far, and it's held up to EVERYTHING. I always felt like I needed a bit more room, so it was time to snag the 32. Mystery Ranch took all of the soul out of this bag. I ride a motorcycle with two large laptops, and I'm honestly worried about things falling out. The mag-buckle system on the two rip pouches NEVER needed to be removed. I kept a charger in one, and a larger power brick int he other. I don't know if I trust the two rip pouches to not dump my stuff on the highway. It's just, man... what a bummer. It's a shell of the bag it was. Boring color options as well. There were some good additions made, but they fall into the "well I should hope so/should've been there from the start" category. I think the internal storage is laid out better. The straps and yoke system are definitely better, as are the hip straps. Water bottle pockets are handy. But it's a lot of features removed, and a lot of 'every pack has these' features added. It's a now a sad, middling bag, and no longer worth the price. Off to eBay to find a used previous gen 32. If you love your RipRuck, and you should, this is not the same.

Great Piece of Gear
Fantastic pack. It’s extremely durable and does exactly what I wanted and expected. I got it to go with my Scree. The modularity when it comes to fitment sets it clearly apart from many other brands. Great job as usual Mystery Ranch!

Amazing quality and functional
I love everything about this bag. The side pockets are so useful and handy. The fact that they seal even without the zipper closed is great for when you're going in and out of pockets. The separate laptop pocket is so useful! The only thing I'd fix is the top flap is a little floppy so it doesn't always catch the magnets. Maybe having a little more sturdy material to help keep it more ridged would fix the issue

Perfect for Work
I bought this as a daily work backpack. It is phenomenal! Exceptionally well-made, tough as nails, includes awesome features (e.g., magnetic closures), and it is comfortable.

A Nursing students dream backpack
I spent many a year in multiple backpacks worth of trying to find the right one. I need something sturdy But light enough for me to take to work or school. I work in the medical field and I need a big Pack in order for need to take an extra pair of scrubs socks, and yes, the occasional change of shoes. This pack changes the game. I’ve taken it everywhere. Work, school and Travel. I put in a heavy 16 inch MacBook Pro and an 12.9 inch iPad Pro for nursing school and it still is comfortable. I got rid of the hip belts, I only use hip belts in the backcountry but other then that I love this pack, it will my go to every day nursing pack.

Very well built, very easy access
Phenomenal quality and very nice design. Extremely easy access with the rip-zip lid and the rip-zip exterior compartments. I love how Mystery Ranch managed to essentially build a modern ruck from the ALICE pack. Super simple and effective.

Great Pack-Most durable pack I own
I have the smaller Rip-Ruck and I loved it, but found it to be a bit small for some applications, so I bought the bigger one for daily use. Only complaints would be that the bottle holders on the side have a hard time holding larger bottles like a standard Nalgene bottle. When you set the back down bottles always want to fall out. Also wish the bigger bag had the same zipper all the way down the front like the smaller one but these struggles are splitting hairs. Over all great versatility and durability.

Winner Winner Turkey Dinner
I needed a pack that could adequately de-weight my shoulders like a hiking pack, be small enough to fit under a plane seat, sturdy enough to carry 40 lbs regularly, dedicated padded place for a laptop, and have compartments for miscellaneous things. The frame is not as sturdy as you’d expect from a hunting pack, but it is sturdy enough and most importantly you can increase the length of the frame to fit taller and bigger guys. Other backpacks in this style like from the 511 company do not have adjustable frame lengths and the shoulder straps are sewn straight into the top of the pack.

Why does the pack in the pictures look physically different than the one in the video and some of the posted pictures? The accessories tabs on the sides look like thin plastic instead of the nylon straps seen in the video. It's also the same for the front

will a motorcycle helmet fit in this backpack.

I know it says 15" laptop sleeve, but can it fit the 16" macbook pro? The 2 day assault is rated for the same size, but someone said that their pack fit the 16" laptop. So I thought maybe this one might too.

Have there been updates over the past couple of years on the Rip Ruck 32 for the yolk or straps? 2-years ago the straps were pretty thin and did not provide much support for much of any weight above 20 or 25 pounds in the pack and digs into the shoulders.
