Good travel pack

Performed well for EDC in Maui. Carried snorkel and beach stuff to snacks and clothes very bravely. Flying with it under my seat right now. Good bag and a good companion. We'll done, Gallagator!

Everything you need, nothing you don’t

Used this pack on a six day trek of the Kumano Kodō trail in Japan. Super comfortable out the gate and held everything I needed. Well made and super light. Stoked. Thanks!

Gallagator 25, More than a perfect day pack!

I bought two of these. Originally the blue which I bought at scheels, and then in the color scheme twig which I purchased online. I was looking for a quality day pack for hikes. Mystery ranch did not disappoint. Having pull tabs to grab on to for zippering and unzippering is awesome. Love how versatile it is for how to access the bag. And the top pouch with the key clip is perfect for my wallet and quick access items. Well thought out design with the shoulder strap pockets and sewn in loops. I carry a Nalgene bottle of which it has to pockets for. All in all I very much would recommend this bag. I had never heard of mystery ranch before this purchase but I will search them out again if another bag is needed.

Great Multi Purpose Pack

I didn’t know how I would feel about this pack when I first got it, but after almost a tear of use I can say I love this backpack. I use it almost daily, from a carry on, for day hikes, to holding all our pool day supplies. I get more use out of this little pack than any other Mystery Ranch product I own. The only thing keeping me from giving it a 5 star rating is the zippers. I have had few time when I’ve had to fight with them to get the open or closed.

Excellent peak bagging bag

I have the Coulee 30, and love it, but I need something more packable for a 4 day backpacking trip to Chicago Basin in Colorado. It worked perfectly! It’s upper lightweight with the just right amount of storage and great feel when adjusted properly. The last thing you want summiting the 14ers is a heavy bag hanging off your back. The straps for tying down your helmet are a nice plus a places for your poles are great as well! The zipper system works flawlessly and you “filet” it open in a hurry to get what you need. All in all it is my new go to, lightweight day pack! Super impressed!

Day Hikers Dream pack

Im a day hiker. For various reasons I don’t like multi day overnight hikes. I love hitting trails that get me out and back in a day. So when I was looking for a pack that was versatile enough to use on all day or half day hikes, or an even a day at the beach or park, I chose the Gallagator. It’s shockingly lightweight, has plenty of exterior pockets on the sides, shoulder straps, and top compartment. The tri zip to the main compartment makes it so easy to access your stuff. There are attachments and daisy chains for hiking poles and other equipment. The shoulder straps are lightweight and comfortable and the sternum straps are easily adjustably. With all the room in the main compartment I probably could have chosen the 20, but during fall & winter hikes I know I’ll appreciate the extra space for cold weather clothing. Overall I love this pack and highly recommend it.

Nice pack. Nice materials.

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Bought this pack to replace 10 yr old camelback which I use almost daily for cycling and trail running. I opted for the larger pack to make sure I had plenty of room and to make it more versatile for using while traveling. Prob should have stuck w the smaller pack. I’m not a huge fan of the 3 way zipper system. I personally don’t see the advantage of having instant access to things in bottom of your pack in a pack this small, and in a pinch if you need to carry something too large to fit, the three way zippers are not going to hold it closed if something needs to hang out. Not a deal breaker, just my 5 cents worth. Pack materials are lightweight compared to most packs. I’d like it to be a little more rigid, but that’s just a personal preference and time will tell if the materials hold up. This pack will get rained on a lot so we shall see how that goes-I loved the rain fly that was zipped into the bottom of the camelback mule as I used it many times. Biggest complaint I would have about this pack is the storage of a hydration bladder-it’s not separated enough, comes out at an awkward place, and there aren’t any loops that seem to be positioned right for the tube. This is a must for a trail running pack for me so I may need to go another direction if I can figure something better out. I love the pockets on the front straps. I’m getting used to there not being a lower belt strap, it doesn’t flop, I don’t trust the rear outside pockets without a tie at top which I have added. Again-biggest unanswered part of this review is durability and rain proof for me.

Day Pack

Great fit with the running vest straps. Back is extremely light, but still feels durable.
