high quality
I have several Mystery Ranch packs, all are well thought out, well worth the money, just right size, replacing a Filson that i have had for decades, i was looking for something lighter.

Amazing bag, except the strap.
I love this bag, I've had multiple people ask me about it. I travel a lot for work so it doubles as the perfect carry-on with the backpack straps. The only downside is the shoulder sling strap, as the primary carry position I use in the office, it's a real shame that it squeaks like a dying rabbit. The pocket layout is great, tons of different options and even has a velcro patch on the inside to add any 3rd party accessories you choose. I went for a EDC organizer. Overall it's great, but eventually I'll snap and buy another shoulder strap.

Thoughts from a Lady Lawyer
As a lady lawyer, this is a very nice bag to serve as my remote office while traveling about my neighboring county. I will need to carry a separate bag for heels, cosmetics, hairbrush, toothbrush because it’s really just enough space for electronics, some pens, my keys and wallet and a few notepads and client folders. I’ll enjoy pretending i’m a man while i carry it. Glacier blue is beautiful in person.

Great bag!
I have been looking for a new bag for a number of months now. Searching both manufactures and social media sites for the perfect bag. I feel I have found in MR's 3Way bag. It allows me all the options I wanted for my classroom carry bag and it has a smaller profile than my 3 Day Assault bag.

Near Perfect
I’ve owned and carried this bag for about a year or so, and have carried it on a ton of intl work travel (I got the bag at a discount from a local retailer for whom I do gear testing and reviews). High quality convertible bags are hard to find, esp at this price point. The magnetic front flap is clutch, and works very well. I think the size is spot on - I can load it down with all the essentials for a day of travel or work. Bose headphones, laptop, Nalgene, notebook, and all the small accessories (keys, passport, pens). I’ve also used it as a flight bag on occasion. I prefer shoulder bags for travel because it’s easier to have quick access to documents, drinks, etc., but I also like being able to put it into backpack mode if I am on a long walk across town. That said, I think it could benefit from a couple improvements: Different shoulder strap. I’ve found that mine squeaks when walking with the bag in shoulder bag “mode.” The squeaking will stop if I put my hand on the strap, but I think swapping out the swivels to avoid plastic on plastic would eliminate the noise. Slip through back panel for stowing on a carry on handle. I’ve found a lot of shoulder bags made for travel - as this one is - have a slip-through panel on the back so the bag can be stowed on the handle of a carry on. Workaround I found for this is either to just put the bag in backpack mode and carry it that way, OR…I just wrap the shoulder straps around my carry on and tighten them down. Understand this is kind of nit picky, but I don’t think adding the slip through back panel would add any cost and would provide a big benefit to the utility of the bag.

Best computer/travel bag
I wish I found this bag years ago. The design has the space for everything you need and nothing that you don’t. Super functional, I really love the convertible backpack option. It also looks very professional. Thank you for the time you spent in designing this.

Great all around
I have been using this for work and travel for several years now and it meets every need. The pockets work very well for all the business needs and is large enough additional items for international travel. Very rugged but still looks very professional.

I can’t find a flaw in this design.
It’s an excellent briefcase for my purposes. I really don’t know how they could make it better. I like the ability to expand and contract its size, and the 3 way pocket is full of great features.

Can you only get the Velcro on the black fire brief case? Or is availed on any other color? And if so does it come with the patch pictured?

Is the Wood Waxed version waxed nylon or polyester and how does this differ from the 500D cordura version? There are conflicting answers on here and I'm confused! Thanks.

Has MR considered adding a luggage pass through to this pack? Big fan of this design and size of the pack for travel it’s just a massive inconvenience not to have a passthrough. I have the passthrough in a similar 3-way carry briefcase and love it.

I am interested in this bag in black but would like a bit of color so am interested in the wildfire black. That model shows a patch on the front of that bag as well and I am wondering if that is removable or sewn in place?

The specs show two different numbers for weight (2.6 lb, 1.9 lb), volume (1220 cu-ins, 1345 cu-ins) and dimensions (11"x16.5"x10.5", 9"x14.5"x7"). Which version(s) of this bag do these apply to?
