Purchased in 1999
I purchased my stove in 1999 and it’s been going strong since. I’ve only had to replace the gaskets. It works well and packs up nice. The fuel line wire mesh cover is a little frayed from many years of bending, but is still in excellent shape.

Perfect for a Scout Crew!
We used this stove for a crew of 12 on a backpacking trip. Its easy to set up and ignite. It held a large 8 qt. pot to cook for all 12 of us. Very stable and secure. We really like the double fuel regulators to control the size of the flame. It really helped to dial in the temp for a simmer. I will buy a second one as soon as they are back in stock!

Dragonfly
I purchased a dragonfly in 1984 and it still rocks. MSR was kind of enough to replace the fabric-covered fuel line when it frayed with a metal mesh one (at no cost). Otherwise, never had a problem with it. It's bullet proof. These stoves are meant to last a lifetime. My model is about twice as heavy as the current ones (preceded ultralight backpacking). And yes, it's noisy but when it's super cold out and you're wet with sweat, that's backcountry music to one's ears. It'll boil a pot of water in a couple minutes. It's never failed me. Hats off to MSR for your good products.

Love My MSR DragonFly Stove
..Can't see how any other stove in this price range could possibly out-perform the Dragonfly. With dual flame control along with the wind screen and multi fuel potential, one can prepare a meal in very decent time. Well worth the money!..

This is a great stove
I bought this stove in 2010 and still use it for camping in the high Sierras. I've backpacked for 51 years in a row and love this stove.

Love the dragonfly for its
Love the dragonfly for its simmer ability and love Cascade Designs for its products and service. The white insulating fabric around the bottom of the stove was only partially on when I received it, and fell off the first few times it was used. It did not seem attached correctly. It works fine without it but I could not give it 5 stars due to that.

Great, but doesn't last
This is my 3rd Dragonfly stove which I think says a lot. I love it, BUT they also do keep breaking (typically in the same spot). However I keep coming back to it because I love the simmering function which no other stove or brand offer to the same degree. I bring it on backcountry trips for my family of 5. And if we have a larger group we just bring two of them and they work really well even for large pots and lots of cooking.

One Outstanding Stove.
I have had mine for a little over a year. I love it. Heats water fast. Cooks great, bacon, eggs, etc. Great heat control. I generally use white gas for fuel. But ran it on diesel for one trip, worked great. That was one of the main reasons I purchased this is you can run it on many fuels, and fuel that can be replenished pretty much anywhere. My (adult) son liked it so much he bought one for his kit.

Love it....
We have been burning this stove for 20+ years in every condition out there (northern Canada winter camping, hot summer thunderstorms...). Original blue pump cracked (as they all seem to have) and the original brazed pivot axle cracked/broke off, but have been able to repair and keep the stove going after all of this. Added a dragon tamer to fix the only real issue with the stove- it (was) pretty loud. With the tamer it is perfect. Can easily boil water in a hurry and then cook quinoa without turning everything to charcoal. As with all stoves the windshield is a must to keep it running efficiently. It is a beauty- after all these years and using everything else under the sun we wouldn't consider anything else.
