Why We Like The Mountain Hardwear Stretch Ozonic Insulated Jacket
From steep treks to ice routes, Mountain Hardwear's Stretch Ozonic Insulated Jacket gives us the protection we need in a highly mobile package. The impermeable membrane and sealed seams stop rain and snow from soaking through, while the body-mapped insulation gives us added warmth where we need it most. Ensuring we're never restricted, every material blend—shell, lining, and fill—stretches with our movements, letting us swing an axe and clamber over debris naturally and unhindered. When our limits are tested, we zip open the underarm vents to keep from overheating without having to expose ourselves completely to the elements.

Just Right!
I have broad shoulders and a large bosom (36G) that are hard to fit in most women’s jacket but I took a chance and bought this jacket and I am so glad I did! I purchased an XL. The fit is perfect, I appreciate being able to adjust the sleeve opening and the hood. It’s not tight in the chest or shoulders which gives me room to move while snowshoeing and nordic skiing.

Not very long arms, small tooth zipper
I am 5'9" and the sleeves of the XL are shorter than a Jockey midlayer in XL, shorter than Eddie Bauer XL, and shorter than my Columbia 3-in-1 coat XL. The front zipper has small teeth, it's a one-way zipper and it feels flimsy. If they use a waterproof layer, I wish they would have chosen a more durable zipper or at least a zipper that is easier to grasp. The front zipper is the same (pull size, teeth) as the chest pocket zipper, if that gives you an idea of what I mean. It is warm. It fits a bit trim and I wear a 38B which is small-chested, but this is too tight across the chest. I really like that it has down insulation, and a durable outer layer. I think this means feathers won't stick out, and it's more durable for an active person. I bought it based on the other review saying it's a great daily coat. I don't think the zipper will last. The coat doesn't add much bulk--so it's aesthetically nice for that reason.

My New Favorite Daily Driver
This is THE jacket to have as a daily fall through spring daily driver for your day to day errands. There’s details like Velcro cuffs to further fine tune fit around gloves, pit zips, and internal pockets. And the synth green is just gorgeous in person. The fit is the classic MH fit and I would even venture to say even a little roomier in the chest area- and being a 38DD that’s saying something! I ordered my typical size and appreciate the extra bit of room for layering or sweaters. The jacket length is absolutely perfect and I’m a longer torsoed lady, no drafty lower back here. This is the first piece in a year or so that I’ve found from MH that they truly knocked it out of the park. The single only nitpick I could have is a lack of hood drawcords to cinch down the hood further. The only hood adjustment is at the back of the hood which cinches down the crown. If you’re on the fence, this is a very very solid buy.
