Poor cut, very tight in chest
- Size Bought:

The cut is poor. It is so tight around the chest it squeezes the loft out. That's not acceptable for me. See the picture of the model. Notice how the fabric around his chest has no wrinkles but the other fabric has plenty of them. Unless the wearer has a very skinny chest, this one doesn't fit correctly, so for me, not recommended

Built like a box
I like mountain hardware but I have to steer you away from this jacket. I am an outdoor athlete in many disciplines and this jacket does not stack up. Was originally attracted to it because it’s lighter than my Arcteryx and Rab, but it is such a poorly designed jacket. Pure mediocrity, terrible warmth due to the fitment, zero features, bare minimum everything. Just feels like cost cutting :(

Does not feel as cozy or as warm as past Whisper jackets owned. The shell fabric ?
Nothing special for the price. Probably would look elsewhere for technical down jacket. I have 2 other whisoers from years padt and this onexjust does not feel the same lightweight to warm advantage over others. Spendy too!

Amazing insulation, new fit too wide
I’ve owned two previous versions of the Ghost Whisperer and still have them. They’re essential gear for my outdoor adventures. Just bought the new version and it still has truly amazing insulation per ounce. However, I’ve been disappointed that Mountain Hardwear has widened the fit so that even a medium is loose on me and I’m 5’ 10” / 165lbs. I assume this change was made to better accommodate the mass market, but it’s caused me to start looking elsewhere for an alternative.

So light so cozy
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:

The Jacket has only been out into the woods once, but I ended up pretty whiskey drunk, popped up a hammock and fell asleep in this thing. I swore I was in a cozy sleeping bag all night. The bourbon may have increased the R value of the puffer who knows, it’s not an exact science after all. You need some version of this in the kit so get this or something similar and get out there…

Not exactly like my older Ghost Whisperer
Some changes to the stitching as compared to my old Ghost Whisperer, which changes the fit noticably. This new one is more boxy as a result. Sucks this type of what I assume is cost-cutting on like on of their staple pieces IMO. I'm an MH nut but haven't been happy with recent items as of late, this being one of them due to lower quality materials and/or cost-cutting measures. "Everything is Equipment" let's not forget that for fashion.

Warm & Lightweight
Warm and lightweight! Large came out to be 9.5 ounces. Replacing another jacket I have that is 11.2 ounces, I was hoping it was about 1.5 ounces lighter, but it is already pretty light and warm! I do wish it also had an elastic seal at the wrist to block cool air when it's really cold. However, if I'm moving regularly, then it is kinda nice to let a little bit of cool air in.
