Nice design. Great material
I wore this jacket for a snowcamp trip at Crater Lake. It was below 20 and wind gust was 40mph. The high and stuff collar of this jacket can keep my face reasonably warm and I didn’t need to wear other face protection gear. The material of the jacket seems very sturdy and I can tell the DWR coating is very good.

Warm and dry, don’t miss the pit zips or pockets
I have a nickname based on how much I love pockets and have snacks for everyone while out on a trail in said pockets. I bought this shell knowing it only had two pockets. Wore this skiing while it was snowing wet snow/ice and then temps around 7 degrees without accounting for wind chill (which took it to below zero). Kept me warm and dry (tshirt, wool sweater and ghost whisper jacket underneath). Also wore this skiing on a sunny warm day ( long sleeved tshirt) and didn’t overheat and it cut the wind. I ordered this despite the lack of arm pit zips and hand pockets and found to my surprise that I don’t miss the pockets - particularly when wearing the corresponding shell pants which have nice big pockets. On the jacket, the external pocket on the left is oversized and fits what I need in it. (snack, keys, small map, etc.) The standard internal pocket on the right fits phone nicely. The corresponding pants takes care of a runner style water bottle, extra hat/buff, snack, etc. On the warm sunny day didn’t miss the pit zips at all. Very happy with the performance of this jacket in a variety of conditions during various snow sports. Glad I risked it and bought it despite the features I thought I was going to miss. Packs small and super light.

the fit is as advertised and the material/quality seems excellent. Haven't had it out in the elements yet.

Light and waterproof jacket
Light and waterproof jacket that I put to the test this past rainy weekend. My only complain is no hand pockets to warm up with.

Great jacket
This is a great jacket. VERY light. My 200 puffy isolated jacket fits perfectly under. This will be a great combo to keep me warm this winter. However there are No air pockets under the armpits.

DOES NOT Have Pit Zips!! Beware: ONLY ONE POCKET
The description of this product is wrong, even after I notified Mountain Hardwear. There are no pit-zips and there is only ONE chest pocket, that I would not call “over-sized”.

no front pockets, no pit vent zips
i know there are now other reviews that say this - but i wish i'd known this when i bought it. wanted to upgrade from a different 10 year old mountain hardware jacket that i love (but never liked the color of tbh), and will probably stick with the old one because i can't imagine skiing without front pockets, and vent zips are so nice (my other one has them on my arms & pits). i'd like to return it but i ordered it before going out of town for a few months and now i probabaly can't, but will try anyways.

Things I Wish I Knew Before I Bought This Jacket:
There are only two pockets. One on outside chest you can see in the picture, one on the inside chest opposite the outside pocket. Not thrilled about not having a place for my gloves, phone, beers, pass, etc. I make it work but I wish I knew the pocket situation before buying. Material is great! Lightweight, comfortable. I'm 5'2", 150 lbs and I got a medium. I'm glad I did, I have another MHW jacket that is a medium and much too big but this one fit great! I usually put three layers underneath during the heart of Montana winters but this is great on its own for spring skiing!
