Solid dependable comfort.
All I've owned for 30 years. There is none better in my opinion. The two I own are still 100%. And can't get rid of them. (Guess I should wash them) they are always with me in the mountains year round.

Buy two…I did
I wore this hat everywhere in the cold; and then I lost it on the Madison River in Montana last month. I went to a local outdoor retailer and after trying on a million other brands, I knew what I had to do…I came home and bought another one. This is a high performance hat that is my finest piece of cold weather equipment.

Great quality, but size not as advertise
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- Xk
I have ordered half dozen of these hats a few years back. The new hays are smaller dimensions and very tight and do not reach to my ears. I had to stretch over a bowl to even get it on my head. The 5 star old hat fit great. Stretching the hat thins it out and it is not as warm.

Make the Dome P in XL again!
Miss the OG Dome P ... The new version doesn't come in XL and is too tight. Plus it's got less room to pull down to cover bottom of ears.

Not really XL
I’ve had a Dome Perignon for many years and it’s been my favor hat ever. I used it every day in winter and always when skiing or hiking. Sadly it finally wore out (Goretex layer started crackling and splitting) so I had to buy a new one. Unfortunately Mountain Hardwear stopped making a dedicated XL size and the new X/XL is significantly smaller than an actual XL. It is way too small and doesn’t completely cover my ears. Also it’s a bit tight around my hear and that limits how long I can wear it. Sadly those of us with big “domes” have few options for headwear and now we have one less

Overjoyed Dome Perignon is Back
I was overjoyed to discover that Mountain Hardwear is reviving some of its classic designs, notably the Dome Perignon hat as many of mine have gone missing over the years. If you have a larger head like me you will likely find the L/XL to be a tight fit. I will compare it with my original version this weekend to see how different the sizes are in a head to head showdown. If you are a MH decision maker with some get up and go, please consider making a 2XL version - I will buy more! In the meantime I will investigate ways to stretch out the hat. Bottomline: I'm glad the cap is back, I wish that the fit was looser. Get one!

The best technical beanie
This is classic piece from mountain hardware. And I finally have a XL size to fit my huge head.
