Great fit! my new favorite pants
Love these tights! I noticed a little pilling on the outer thighs after the first week of wear. Not bad and easy enough to shave off. I feel these will durable enough to climb around on sandstone and limestone without snagging. I have hiked, climbed, yoga'd, and traveled in these and they are exactly what I have been looking for. The stretch panels in the waist are perfect for getting a smooth fit. I ordered my normal size (small) and they fit perfectly. I'm normally a size 4 in bottoms, 5'8" 126lbs. The length is perfect for me.

I *LOVE* these so much but there's quite a bit of pilling before any real activity.
I bought these leggings after trying them on in my local outfitter. I LOVE these tights because they are everything that all of the other outdoor tights aren't. They are super cute, the fit is amazing, pockets in the right place but there is an abundance of pilling on the legs after just a couple days. I wore them to work the day I was leaving for red river gorge and by the end of the day (sitting at my desk), there was quite a bit of pilling in areas that saw barely an activity. The pilling has continued so I didn't wear them climbing and probably won't. They are awesome leggings but be forewarned the fabric will pill quite a bit. Also, Just a suggestion but another pocket would be awesome-especially in the area where your chalk bag would hang.

These leggings are next level! I love the fabric and color. The waistband sits exactly where I like it - not too high rise but right at my belly button. It has some nice wide stitching and excellent pockets. I think they will be my favorite new climbing leggings! The fabric moves with me nicely, and the length was perfect for me. They seem way more abrasion resistant than I thought, and should hold up well. UPDATE - they have not held up well, pilling all over the leggings is very apparent and disappointing.

Great pants but pilling after 2nd use
I bought this pant for hiking. I love it because it is comfy but super disappointed by the quality of the fabric. It started to pill after second use. I did not expect this from Mountain Hardwear products.

So comfortable but material is terrible
I bought these at the end of May for a climbing trip to the Red. They are sooo comfortable to wear climbing! Like unbelievably comfortable. However the good ends there… There is NO way MH tested this fabric for climbing. The butt and knees pilled like crazy on day one. I have had them now for barely two months and they look terrible. The only reason I have not returned them is because of the comfort. Please do better on the material next time! There is just no way you can call these climbing tights with this fabric.

Great Fit, Terrible Material
Bought these a couple of months ago and have been wearing them a decent amount for climbing. As mentioned in a number of other reviews, the "durable" face fabric has gotten incredibly furry after just a couple of uses and I haven't even put them through the wringer yet (ie crack climbing/canyoneering) which is what I bought them specifically for. I have to say though that the fit is incredible. They move and stretch so well and I find them comfortable to hike in if the weather is not too warm. I've got a little pudge around the middle and the thick waist band is still comfortable, flattering, and stays in place through all activities. Hoping Mountain Hardwear works on this material issue and contacts those of us that would love to buy another pair if improved.

Very cozy
I am a rock climbing instructor in western North Carolina and wear leggings often when recreating in the backcountry. Since wearing these I have appreciated several things about them: The pocket on the side actually fits my iPhone XR, the gusseted seat allows them to move really well with you while climbing, and the elastic lining at the waste keeps them seated in just the right spot. I am 5'2" and rather petite, which usually means pants are too long on me. But these fit perfectly almost everywhere! The only downside to the fit is in the waist. The stitching at the top is not stretchy, so the stitching ripped the first few times I pulled them over my hips. The only other thing about these pants is the pilling. After a couple uses, the fabric started to pill a good bit, which is pretty common with synthetic clothing. Overall, they're a good pair of leggings that keeps up well with the acrobatic moves of climbers!

Disappointed
I love the fit of these pants, but unfortunately there was a significant amount of pilling after wearing them 3 times. I expected more from this product given the price point. I read other reviews where pilling was mentioned, so it seems to be a problem.

Flexible and comfortable for climbing
I'm a climber in Colorado and I need my gear to move with me on the wall. I'm 5'2" with an athletic build. I between a small and medium for pants but decided on the medium. The length is good; for a taller person the legs would taper nicely around the ankle but they weren't too long and bunched on my short legs, either. There is a little bit of a gap in the waistband for me, but not terrible. The high, flat waistband is a little less stretchy than in some other leggings, so I'd err on the side of larger sizing if you are concerned about pinching around the waist. I really like the flexible gusseting around the thighs, hips, and ankles. It allowed me to have full range of motion for high steps and rockovers on the wall without sacrificing the more sturdy-feeling Cordura fabirc elsewhere. The Cordura fabric on the majority of the legs feels less likely to have pulls and snags than other leggings, but it did pill a little bit in high abrasion spots, like the knee. That said, I don't think it showed wear any more than other outdoor wear. I love that these leggings have a harness-compatible zip pocket on the thigh, a feature I wish ALL leggings had! I was able to squeeze my phone into it somewhat awkwardly but it is probably best fit for things like keys and credit cards. These tights are great for climbing and would also be perfect for cooler-weather runs and hikes.

Unique leggings/pants combo
I'm a climbing guide based out of Utah and love me some leggings for work and play and around town and... I didn't realize that these were hybrid leggings and I actually really like them! They have a lot of cool features (phone size zippered pocket!). I also especially enjoy women's pants that are gusseted (it's shockingly rare). The only thing I don't like about these pants is that the seams pop at the waist when I'm pulling them on and off (only reason for 4 stars). They are holding their shape so far though. These a perfect for folks who want more features and more thought put into their active wear. I am typically a large in the pants department (pear shape) and the large fits just fine.
