Why We Like The AirMesh Hoodie

The way the AirMesh Hoodie drapes over our shoulders reminds us of how medieval knights were equipped with chainmail. The difference is this durable AirMesh armor is exceptionally light, but it still provides modest protection from the stabbing cold. It is the perfect piece for a proper layering system on all our active pursuits or as a standalone for breathable comfort.

255 letter minimum is a lot to write about one shirt. It was a hot sunny afternoon in a valley on the coastal mountains of yo Mamma’s house!. I’d buy the shirt again if it was half off on sale. My first mountain hardware shirt but not past

Great fit and feel. Breaths great for a warm walker

Would highly recommend

Very lightweight and breathable. Super warm when combined with a shell. Exactly what I was looking for in a backpacking mid layer.

Best Base Layer, Period

AirMesh is the warmest, lightest, most comfy base layer ever, especially when damp. Barely touches the skin, breathes so well that moisture just moves away. I have tried all others in 60 years of biking, hiking, skiing, and mountaineering. I have 3 of these so they are never all in the laundry.

Very light weight and warm

I like the lightweight warmth this provides. It does that incredible well and I can wait to put it to more use this Spring. BUT I completely understand what other reviewers say about the bunching in the armpits if you use a long sleeve shirt under it. I was lucky to get one that only does it in the arms, my body had the material laying the correct way to keep that from riding up too. Seems like this would be a simple fix, but they have yet to figure it out on the production level. I would buy again on sale, but not sure about MSRP unless they get this figured out.

Super warmth for weight

Super lightweight, very warm. Perfect to hike or ski when there's a chill in the air but not much wind. Pair with a windbreaker and you'll overheat. Stretch fabric in thumbs and face are a very nice touch. Time will tell for durability.

Packable, and active shirt

Great fit, the tiny holes make it solidly a performance/active shirt vs causal daily shirt. With the holes comes great ventilation and cool air felt. Surprisingly warm and lite, a stiff cold breeze will feel chilly.

Almost there

I think this garment shows a lot of promise, but I ended up returning it. I just found that the fit was not quite right and I tried two different sizes. First, I found that the hood is a little snug at the base, so that when you turn your head, it pulls a little too tight, especially if you were wearing a hat. I also found that the shirt had kind of a strange fit in the torso, and was overall not quite long enough. I did like the thumb holes and I like that the fuzzy material is on the inside.

Nice when on sale, but has caveats.

Bought a large in two different colors when on sale. Very warm and breathable. As other reviews have mentioned the direction of the octa fleece fibers in the shirt are not consistent between hoody. Depending on the direction of the fleece it changes the feeling and fit of the shirt and can make it ride up on you, or feel "clingy". Felt tight in the underarms. Would be nice if there were gusseted armpits. If fit was better I would buy it on sale again, but not for full price.

Warm, light, breathable - all ultra

First impression is that it’s very light, very warm for its weight, and breaths very well. If weight is important to you, this is a must get. It’s essentially the jacket insulation without the jacket, so if you want wind protection just add a wind breaker. For some reason I was expecting it to have some stretch to it, but it doesn’t really, which is fine once you know to expect it. The outer material doesn’t feel soft, but the inner brushed material does. Overall a fan of the material, curious if they could add some stretch though, or maybe that would compromise the fiber insulating structure? Other request would be to do a version with no large branding, I don’t mind large branding on a jacket, but having it on a shirt or a base layer is less desirable. Would recommend.

Unbelievably light and cozy, wow

I absolutely love my air-mesh hoody! It's unmatched in it's lightness/warmth ratio, and astoundingly comfy. A unbeatable midlayer when every gram matters. I think I’ll might put mine on right now, actually.
