Surprisingly Effective
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- XL
- Weight:
- 180
For a jacket that you can literally see through and weighs almost nothing, it is an effective windbreaker. For light winds, it works well as an insulative layer. I've not had it out in the rain yet, but previous experience with Mountain Equipment's DWR makes me think it perform well in a drizzle to light rain. Because it packs up so small and can hang from your pack, this would make a great addition to fall or spring backpacking. I would order a size up from your normal size, only so you can have more than a baselayer underneath.
