Too narrow
I liked the style of the shoe. Unfortunately they were too narrow for my feet.

Poor fit and Feel
Changed the fit and feel. Messed up a good thing. Please correct this, or at least stop calling something that they are not. It's basic ;-)

Extremely Narrow!
I had my eye on these for a while so when they went on sale I jumped and bought a pair. I knew as soon as I opened the box these werent going to fit. They are so narrow I couldn't even squeeze my foot into them! Definitely not a medium width. What a disppointment!

Significant and disappointing change in design
Having worn Merrell Trail Glove shoes for the better part of the last decade, I have to admit this is the first version I am disappointed in. The "barefoot" feel is completely missing from the shoe. The toe box has been shrunk to a degree that disallows natural forefoot movement, but the most disappointing part of the shoe is the change to the "arch support". The new version of the arch support is so insanely rigid that it completely disallows natural foot movement, to the degree I do fear injury in these shoes and cannot continue to wear them. The arch support is strange in design and it feels like it locks my foot in place, and as if I can only utilize a flat footed foot strike, whereas previous versions allowed for a very natural "on your toes" forefoot foot strike. Regardless of the reasoning behind the design, I have found it unwearable, potentially injurious, and if nothing else, brutally uncomfortable. Please, Merrell, return to the trail glove 3 design. That was the best trail shoe I had ever purchased. These are easily the worst. It's really disappointing, I had ordered these for Christmas for a present to myself, was quite excited to receive them and now I don't know what to do with a pair of shoes I can't wear.

Nice blend of light/comfortable/supportive
These are my first pair of Trail Gloves but I also have the Vapor Gloves and Moab. These are a nice blend of lightweight and supportive soles. Super comfortable. I wait them daily. They have more arch support and stability than the vapor gloves but are still flexible and comfortable.

Not minimalist, not Barefoot, not good. Do NOT buy
This is without question the worst Merrell "Glove" (Barefoot shoe) I've ever tried. I have half a dozen different Merrell barefoot shoes and the Vapor Glove 3 Luna Leather is my all-time favorite shoe. This shoe, however, does not deserver to be called a "Barefoot" shoe. It has basically abandoned everything that made Merrell Barefoot shoes good. To put it simply, this is not a minimalist shoe, it doesn't belong in the Barefoot/Glove line, and it leaves me thinking that Merrell has decided to focus on fashion over function. First, the toe box. Look closely at the Trail Glove 6 and what you'll notice is that it doesn't match the shape of the traditional Merrell Barefoot shoes. Instead, it looks like any of their other narrow, fashion-oriented shoes that is anatomically incorrect and does not provide adequate space or shape for the human foot. Secondly, the extreme tightness around the arch. I could barely get my foot into the shoe, even after sizing up, and it was still incredibly uncomfortable. Probably the most uncomfortable shoe I've put on my foot in the last ~5 years. Anyone who's worn any minimalist shoe is going to find this bizarre and unnatural. Thirdly, this is an incredibly stiff and inflexible shoe. There is no meaningful ground feel here. Don't get me wrong, I understand that trail running shoes typically have a little extra padding to protect feet on rough trails, but this goes way beyond that. Once again, this is just not in any way a minimalist shoe. Lastly is the overall narrowness of this shoe. Any good minimalist or barefoot shoe will have a shape that generally follows the natural shape of a human foot (see: earlier Merrell "Barefoot" shoes). This shoe doesn't. It looks more like a pair of Chucks with their incredibly narrow, rounded-point toe. These are not just narrow for Barefoot shoes, these are narrow for any shoes. That's a bad thing in general, but it's completely unforgivable in a minimalist shoe. This is the first time since Merrell introduced their Barefoot line that I've been disappointed. Not just in the shoe, but in Merrell, too.
