Low score.

Can remember when purchased maybe 3 months not for hiking but for work on concrete floors. The sole is separating from the shoe.

Simply said…..great purchase.

Comfortable, light weight, good fit. Not much more to say than it’s a great hiking boot for me and I would purchase again and again.

These boots were great until they failed.

First let me say I loved these boots. Lightweight and waterproof they were perfect for my morning walk - mostly concrete sidewalks and metaled / gravel graded trails with occasional uneven ground. Lacing was good - I didn't experience failures of the lacing points like I have with other boots. They arrived almost exactly a year before this review and I used them perhaps three hours per week - so around 150 hours wear, possibly 500 miles walked. Recently the uppers started to separate from the soles adjacent to the MTP joint. Both boots are failing. Before failing I would rate them five stars. After failure, three stars. Great if you only need them for a short time, they are not made to last. With the level of wear on the soles, this may be OK - it's close to time to replace them.

Stepping up.

Narrow sole compared with Moab 2. Tighter overall comfort. Better support. Lightweight. The toe design is better than Moab 2

Comfy, some issues though

Comfy, maybe fit a little small. Feel pretty sturdy but still comfy. Good grip. Definitely waterproof, I took these snowshoeing and stayed dry. My main gripe is that you can feel the Gore Tex lining sagging in the toe box. Kinda rubs and drives me nuts. Don’t know if this is how they’re supposed to be or if this is a defect.

Wish I could try a different pair

They look great but hurt my feet. They run small. Insoles are super thin and have to be replaced out the gate

Great boots

Grear shoes for work use everyday love that they are gore tex. The only thing i have issue with is the size is a little odd. I usuall wear a 10 1/2 is a little small, and the 11 is just a little big.

Very comfortable

I’m 66 and been buying Merril boots for years. Very comfortable, lightweight. Love the orange color. I’ve always gotten size 9 1/2. These fit perfectly. The more I wear them the more I like them. Live in Colorado Springs at 7,500 feet elevation, these are my winter boots. With wool socks they are warm and comfortable. Highly recommended. Andy

Comfortable and dependable boots

This is my second pair of Merrell boots. My previous pair, the Merrell Moab Beluga (which is now discontinued), served me well for nearly 10 years during occasional trips to harsh environments. I particularly appreciate the Moab Speed 2 Mid Gore-Tex for its comfort, wide size availability, and breathability. They are waterproof and true to size, although I recommend choosing a wide size for a better fit. While I haven't tested them in the field yet, I plan to take them as a spare on my next volunteer trip (my primary tactical boots are Haix).

Lighter & warmer than my non-GORE-TEX Moabs

After breaking these in around the garage, I marched through snow a few times in Tahoe. Definitely comfortable, warm, and dry, even in the melting ice/snow conditions. I should have sprung for GORE-TEX with my previous Moab boots. These fit best with thicker wool socks
