Why We Like The Moab 3 Mid GTX Hiking Boot
If wet weather, creek crossings, and muddy trails are all on the agenda, we lace up the Moab 3 Mid GTX Hiking Boots with confidence that our socks will stay dry till’ we get home. The waterproof GORE-TEX membrane keeps water out of the boot, while allowing moisture produced by your foot to escape—making it easier to regulate body temperature in soppy conditions.

Moab 3 Gore Tex
Bought my original Merrells about 15 yrs. ago and loved them. Unfortunately, I blew out both my hiking shoes and boots in the same year. Found these Moab 3 Gore-Tex and have started breaking them in. So far, I love these equally. I buy a size 6.5 for a little extra room for thick socks for winter hiking and shoeing. Yes, they run a smidge wide but this allows for those thick socks. Great design bring lots of compliments from others. I wear them biking, hiking, and working currently. So far, they grip well on snow, but like all shoes, slip on ice. Highly recommend!

Great hiking boots
Love these! Hiked in the Rocky Mountains late September and switched off with my older lower profile Moabs. My feet were always comfortable and well protected!

Comfortable
Comfortable for hiking right out of the box. Lightweight, and my feet didn't overheat during our warm hiking weather.

Good value, high quality & comfy hiking boot
From the moment I tried these on in store to my first walk in these boots, they felt AMAZINGLY comfortable and I absolutely love them. They provide so much support and feel cushioned, while also feeling great while walking over rougher terrain. They also look really stylish and make my wide, big foot look more compact than it is so 10 out of 10! Highly recommend them.

Great Purchase!
Just bought these for an upcoming trip to New Zealand and then shortly thereafter, Iceland. I think these will be perfect for the extended amount of hiking that we will be doing. I have been wearing them around the house with merino wool socks and they are super comfortable. I did go up a 1/2 size to allow room for heavier socks.

Noisey right boot. Fault in the sole?
This is my second pair of Merrell hiking boots. My first pair were so comfortable and durable that when it came time to look for a new pair I went straight back to Merrell. And while this pair are comfortable the right boot makes a really annoying popping sound every step I take. I checked the sole and nothing appears to be loose or coming apart. Strangely, the sound seems to be coming from inside the sole. It's not loud but it's extremely annoying and detracts from the enjoyment of a walk.

Awesome!
Great shoes! Wore them on a hiking trip to Scotland and they withstood rocky, wet, muddy, and slippery hikes. I was very happy I bought these!

Miss Moab support but soles don’t cushion foot.
Merrell Moabs have been my goto shoes for years! I recently purchased both the waterproof and Goretex Moab 3 shoes to replace my well-worn Moab 2’s. I took them on a rocky, steep 12 mile trail to train for a backpacking trip and i could feel every rock! My metatarsals were swollen for days afterward. This may be because my feet are aging and possibly more sensitive now. I had to switch to trail running shoes for comfort, but i really miss how the Moabs support my foot and ankles. I will wear my Moabs on shorter hikes now.
