For before dawn ascents in search of untracked powder stashes and chilly storm laps at the resort, we grab the Marmot WarmCube Active Alt HB Jacket before heading out the door. 3D WarmCube technology keeps us from overheating by circulating air while we're moving, and when we stop it traps that warm air in down-filled cubes to keep us warm. And with its ultra-lightweight construction, it is the perfect layer to throw under a shell when the next storm moves in without sacrificing mobility.

confused
Confused as to what type of performance gear this is. Certainly can't use for skiing.

Superior Warmth and Breathability
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Marmot Men's WarmCube™ Active Alt HB Jacket (2024) is a fantastic choice for those who need high-performance insulation without sacrificing breathability. The WarmCube™ technology effectively traps heat while allowing excess moisture to escape, making it ideal for high-output activities in cold environments. I was particularly impressed by its lightweight yet warm design, which provides excellent mobility without feeling bulky. The helmet-compatible hood and strategically placed pockets make it a great option for alpine adventures, as they remain accessible even with a harness. The durable water-resistant shell adds an extra layer of protection against the elements. Overall, this jacket is a top-tier option for those who need reliable warmth, breathability, and versatility in cold conditions. Highly recommended for mountaineers, climbers, and winter explorers!

Great midlayer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very warm. Movement completely unrestricted. Comfort is amazing. Worn under a minamlist pro in iceland l, ireland and New York and was suprise how warm a shell and the cube kept me while feeling light and have complete range of motion.

Not worth the money
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Too thin, sleeves are a jersey material. Runs small. I wouldn't recommend.

Great lightweight coat for everyday!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in Bay Area California and its frequently super cold in some parts (foggy SF) and boiling 70 degress in 10 min train ride to Oakland. I find this jackets ability to allow me to stay insulated warm when I need it and regulates by sending away from the body when the temperature is warm, really makes this light non bulky jacket for me everyday. Love it.

It is an OK Jacket considering its Full Price
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an excellent jacket. However, the actual size runs small. I recommend getting a larger size. I get this jacket as a final sale product, but i do not think paying the full price for this jacket is worth it.

Men's WarmCube™ Active Alt HB Jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like that it is very slim and lightweight. I wish the arm had some sort of warming material in it as well like the rest of the body. I understand its for active use, but staying warm all over vs just the chest and back would've been a bonus. Love it otherwise.

What's the best way to stuff this jacket for travel? The cubes seem to dictate that folding then compressing may be more desirable than just jamming it in a stuff sack in a large clump.

How does this compare with the WarmCube™ Active Novus Jacket in terms of warmth? Which is more suitable for an alpine mountaineering mission at 8,000-17,000ft?

what is the best one for extreme cold and windy. Does this insulate enough or is there any good recommendation? I feel always cold during winter looking for light weight but want to withstand extreme cold

Is there down filling in the sleeves? If yes, does it use the same WarmCube technology as the body of the jacket? The reason I’m asking is that the sleeves do not have the squared shape cubes in the pictures.
