Knowing that down is an excellent insulator until it gets damp and balls up, the folks at Marmot developed the Down Defender treatment to keep you warm under all but full-on downpours and all-day deluges. Basically, the jacket's down is coated in a Durable Water Repellent (DWR), acting as a safeguard against wet weather to ensure your jacket retains its heat-trapping loft, even if some moisture seeps in. 

Additional features include the jacket's zippered hand and internal stash pockets, which hold snacks and small goodies when you're at the crag or on the trail. The elastic cuffs keep your sleeves from riding up, and its Angel-Wing Movement ensures freedom and flexibility to reach, grab, and move your arms without restriction.
