Why We Like The Marmot PreCip 3L Jacket
The Marmot PreCip 3L Jacket has impressed gear reviewers for years, thanks to its modest price and not-so-modest performance. The NanoPro membrane is highly waterproof and highly breathable while underarm zippers let us release extra heat and moisture if we're hiking hard or holed up under a summer thunderstorm. It's also fully seam sealed and features a storm flap over the front zipper to keep water from sneaking in through any crevices. It's a light and time-tested rain shell that's treated us well over the years.

Upgrade!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fantastic jacket. I upgraded to this after wearing the original PreCip Eco (vs Pro) in Patagonia for 3 weeks a couple of years ago and staying dry. The Pro is awesome and I’m excited to test it out on the O trek in a few weeks — feels sturdier than the non Pro and is very breathable

Comfort, function, value
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This coat has a great cut; it is comfortable and does not make noise. Stayed dry and cozy in the rain and wind and looked great. After a lot of research, we purchased both the men's and women's version of this coat for the main function of keeping us dry, the pit zips for ventilation while hiking, and the adjustable hood for city walking in the rain (mostly this!). So far it is a top performer in all the categories we were searching for!

My favorite jacket
This is my second jacket. The first jacket the lining started to shed after 5 years. I like the fit, I use’s it for workout and running errands. There are some improvements in this one. Hopefully it last longer.

Not waterproof
I bought this jacket for hiking, and I like all the features, especially the underarm zips, but it is not waterproof, which is a big disappointment. I can’t take the dog for a 20 minute walk without getting wet underneath.

Got soaked after 20 minutes outside
I am really disappointed in this jacket. This is only the second time I've worn it and I'm regretting buying it. I was walking outside for 20 minutes and the lower arms and shoulders are soaked through.

Returned
I actually ended up returning this jacket. It was too boxy and not flattering.

Best Rain Jacket Ever
I ordered this jacket to replace my old Marmot jacket that had finally worn out after more than 10 years. Although the old version was awesome, this new version is even better and more improved! I love the better lining and better pockets. I'm sure this new jacket will serve me fabulously for many years to come.

Do the sizes in this jacket fit/run the same as the women precip eco rainjacket? Meaning, should I order the same size of this jacket that I wear in the precip eco?

Is this jacket the same "weight" as the original Precip Eco? As in it's lightweight enough for summer hikes and backpacking? Or is it more insulated than the Precip Eco?

What kind of lining does this have. Your description specs and images don't say or show. Is it a polyester like the PreCips from 10 years ago? Love the lining of the old PreCips.

Does the precip eco pro pack into its own pocket? Thanks!

Does the PreCip® Eco Pro Jacket come with front two-way zipper for the length of the body? I prefer a rain coat so when the zipper is done up fully I can open up the bottom of the coat.
