Thanks to an ultra-durable, waterproof breathable Gore-Tex 2 membrane and fully taped seams, the Palisades seal out moisture in any season and all conditions, and they're made of rugged but lightweight polyester to keep rocks, branches, and gear from poking holes in your legs. When the snow gets a bit deeper, you can rely on the internal gaiters to help keep the fluff from getting up in your business and down in your boots. Cordura scuff guards prevent edges and crampons from slicing up your cuffs, and ankle zippers let you whip your pants off over your boots if things start getting crazy in the backcountry.
