What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I love how this jacket handles everything the mountains throw at me. The GORE-TEX® shell keeps me dry in heavy storms, and the insulated liner is super warm without being bulky. Whether I’m ripping laps at the resort or braving high winds on the summit, the 3-in-1 system is perfect for adapting to changing weather."
Weather in the mountains can shift on a dime, and the Marmot KT Component 3-in-1 Jacket keeps us ready for anything. Built with GORE-TEX® 2-layer waterproof technology and fully seam-taped construction, the shell shields us from unexpected storms and biting winds. When temperatures drop, we zip in the Thermal R insulated liner, designed with Pertex Quantum® fabric to trap heat and block out the chill without restricting our movement.
This jacket is our go-to for versatility, whether we’re lapping the lifts, hiking into the backcountry, or grabbing post-ski beers in town. Thoughtful features like waterproof zippered pockets, a removable storm hood, and an adjustable fit make this 3-in-1 system the ultimate layering piece for unpredictable winter days.

Great jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great jacket. It looks and feels bulletproof. It isn't quite as warm as I was expecting, since the insulating liner could be a little heavier, but I knew it wasn't a full fill when I ordered it.

A great ski jacket for layering
What I most like about this jacket is that it fits me well, yet is roomy enough to layer up for those colder days on the mountain. I returned a more expensive jacket from a competitor because it was a snug, athletic fit and didn’t leave enough room for layering. Personally, I don’t care about the ability to convert the jacket to a shell, and I would have preferred deep glove pockets inside the jacket instead. But I didn’t ding it for that because the jacket is as advertised. Overall it’s the quality you’d expect from Marmot. I have used it on one ski trip already and I am happy with it, particularly at the sale price.

Great experience so far (2 days out Spring skiing)
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great jacket. My only gripe is that the zippers get caught more easily than on my Rossignol. One thing I had not counted on was just how great the liner is as a standalone synthetic puffy. So far I am only using them separately, as I got this for Spring skiing.

Almost Perfect
This is one of my favorite jackets and I’ve got a closet full of I hope they never discontinue this. The pockets are in all the perfect places. Someone finally realized that the forearm is where you put the pass pocket. The removable hood is a must as hoods just don’t work for riding. They are fine for walking around town but when riding in heavy terrain peripheral vision is mandatory. The inner layer jacket is perfect and I wear it with all my jackets unless it’s a warm day. Super comfy and I’ll wear it on its own as well. Goretex is a must where I ski in the Sierra and all other brands fall short. I don’t waste my time with anything else. The sizing is accurate and nothing out of proportion. The only fault I can find with the jacket is the black color has faded significantly. Yes, I do wear it a lot but I’ve never had a jacket fade like this. Also, since this is the perfect jacket it should be offered in an array of colors. Red, blue, green, yellow, orange, gray, tan, black. Just go solid colors and don’t try silly ugly combos like North Face does.

Good Fit for Layering, Nice Shell, Warm!!
Purchased for skiing in the northeast, so needed warmth and flexibility. I believe I found my next favorite jacket. The 3-in-1 is nice and sized well at XL for a guy who can fit into a L but finds that too tight in the shoulders (after all, you have to keep your arms forward with poles). Great wind protection and comfortable feel, which means room for layering up on cold ski days (<10 dF). I have not separated the liner yet, so do not have any input on the pieces individually. The Gore-Tex shell is really nice and the line coat is warm in the set. I would recommend it as a warm and relaxed coat for the piste.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Jacket fits well seems true to size. The only downside, which is minor, is the zip out liner is kind of an ugly color. That did not stop me from buying the jacket. I would recommend the jacket.

good value at current sale price
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good value at current sale price, but would not have considered this jacket at its regular price. Consider sizing down by one size if you will primarily wear the Gore Tex outer layer alone (without the internal jacket).

Can this jacket be decompounded into 2 different jackets that are sold separately at this website? For example, Refuge Jacket and Echo Featherless Jacket? Or these are different jackets and combining them won't be equal to this 3 in 1 jacket?
