Slice up early morning groomers or late afternoon powder stashes in the Marmot Freerider Jacket. The two layer Gore-Tex membrane in this comfortable ski and snowboard jacket prevents weather from penetrating your jacket and compromising your layering as you ride through a wet snow storm. As the day goes on and you hit the boot pack to find some late afternoon fresh the Gore-Tex membrane will allow excess heat out, or when you get really hot, large pitZips dump heat quickly to regulate your body temperature. As you cycle back up to the top for your last run of the day snack on a granola bar from one of the many pockets or slide your goggles into the internal pocket to clear the lenses of fog.

Men's Freerider Jacket
This jacket is awesome. From a form and function it doesnt get better. We live in Seattle and it's been raining a lot and this jacket has been a lifesaver while also being very comfortable. Whether you're active or just walking your dog in the rain you'll be dry as a bone.

A great ski jacket that keeps you warm and dry.
I have had this jacket for over a year. It has served me well from windy below zero weather to drizzly thaw. It is uninsulated and I wear a fleece or down sweater underneath. I especially like the second neck zipper. It allows a wide range of adjustment for differing weather conditions.

Keeps me warmand dry
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket at the end of last season. I have skied in it through snow, -10 degrees F, and +35 F with rain. It has kept me warm and dry. It is cut well so that even though I can move freely it's not loose and flaps in the wind.

Excellent Shell
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect for layering depending on conditions, very versatile. Excellent for the highly variable conditions of the Northeast and my occasional and hopeful powder safaris out West, love Marmot, great products

Super-nice jacket.
This is a really well-built jacket that fits well and is great for skiing. Range of motion is excellent. Double zipper around the chin is nice for extra room. Overall, great jacket

Amazing jacket
Amazing jacket in all conditions. Skied in negative temps, in a storm with heavy wind, stayed warm and dry! Skied in warmer temps as well, the vents work well in warmer temps and on hikes. Best gear I’ve ever had! 29 years skiing, won’t ever buy anything other than Marmot again.

Great Jacket
This is a perfectly weighted shell that keeps out the wind and cold when paired with appropriate layering underneath. Waterproof but does not allow sweat to accumulate. Size was correct - I am 5'10" 165 lbs and got a medium. My ONLY issue is I find the pit zippers for venting to be difficult to zip/unzip, especially with gloves on.

Ski Tested
I just spend a week skiing in variable conditions, from low 40s to single digits, clear skies to heavy snow, wearing my new Freerider throughout. The jacket performed well overall, a nice improvement over another Marmot non-GORE-TEX model I had been wearing for several years. Great wind-breaking, noticeable in colder temps when skiing at higher speeds. Pockets appropriately located and easily accessible. Extra gusset zipper not terribly useful, maybe I'll think differently over time. Solid build overall. The only negative is fit. I'm 5'8", runner build, and wear S in most other Marmot gear. I tried on a M and S in this jacket, M way too big, but S is a bit tighter than ideal across the upper chest and under pits. This does not restrict movement, but is noticeable when putting on the jacket.

Zipper missing
I bought the Jacket in combination with pants, because Iwas running around it for years and suddenly the perfekt offer was there ... When unboxing I couldn't find the zipper connecting the jacket with the pants as the older models had! This was one of the major points why I was looking for it. Freeriders are supposed to be in the deep, so why is that? Fit is loose, but nice. Also Quality seems top.

Great jacket
I’ve been using this jacket for skiing and snowboarding this season and it’s great - totally waterproof, extremely light and very breathable. It’s pricey but actually not bad for a Gore-Tex shell of this quality. Based on some other reviews I went with size large (I am 6’1” and 185lbs). I am pretty sure a medium would have fit but the large leaves room for layering and it’s not too baggy. Personally I would prefer a chest pocket over the sleeve pocket but that’s a minor issue and probably one that only applies to me.
