Different seasons call for different jacket requirements, but you can be prepared for any weather condition with the waterproof shell and insulated liner of the Marmot Featherless Component Jacket. Having a down jacket in frigid temperatures is ideal, but the second the conditions turn wet, that puffy quickly turns into a sloppy mess. With the liner of the Featherless Component Jacket, you can enjoy all the perks of wearing down without enduring the misery of a saturated and compromised piece. The folks at Marmot were able to achieve this by stuffing the liner with their Thinsulate, which creates the same warmth as regular down, but retains double the loft when wet to keep you warm.
If you don't need the extra warmth, the Thinsulate Featherless Insulation is removable, so you can take advantage of the Component Jacket's MemBrain waterproof and breathable fabric on temperate spring, summer, and fall days. This 4-season versatility, coupled with multiple zippered pockets for storage and the ability move freely via the jacket's stretch capabilities, renders it the perfect choice for pillaging pow, beating the monsoon, or navigating the trail.

Finally Warm!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket for my girlfriend last winter and she finally had a chance to get up and ski a couple of weeks ago. She layered up as she normally does for a day on the slopes. However, she ended up getting rid of most everything except for her base layer and this jacket. She said it was the first time she’s ever been warm, all day, on a ski hill. Consequently, I’ve ordered her new Marmot pants and gloves!

Beautiful, warm jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is in an absolutely beautiful color (Dream State) and fits perfectly. I'm usually between a size S and M, but sized up to M so I could include layers underneath if needed - the M fits me perfectly with or without layers!

Don't necessarily need to size up
I listened to the reviews and sized up. I figured I would rather it be a little loose with room for layers than more fitted. For what I need it for the larger size works for me. I am using this mostly for really solid warmth in the winter months and less for sports that require dexterity of my arms. If the intention of this jacket is to keep you warm in a cold winter sizing up is probably a good idea. If you intend to wear this jacket on the slopes or for winter sports I recommend you order your regular size.

Versatile waterproof jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My girls had the youth version of this jacket, literally for years. Zip out lining makes it a great lightweight shell. Soft interior makes for a warm layer. Can't say enough great things about this jacket. Well worn, well worth the investment. We just bought women's sizes in an upgrade but the youth ones were passed on to another kiddo!

Great Jacket to wear year round!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In the first picture, I am heading out on the slopes. In the second picture, I am running in a Freezefest 5k. In the spring or on heavy rain days, I will wear the parka to stay 100% dry.

Best ski jacket I've owned!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've tried a decent amount of ski jackets and this is hands down my favorite! I tend to run hot, even on the coldest of days - and I love the shell on this jacket! It fits so well, I am 5'5" and 140 lbs. This jacket doesn't look bulky. I rarely ski with the insert in, but rather keep that in my backpack and throw it on when we're chillen outside the lodges! I've also started wearing it out and about because it fits so well and is SO WARM. The shell is perfect for me to ski in no matter the weather!

Great versatile jacket for all occassions
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this jacket. I have been using it for over a year now. I work outside in all seasons and it has kept me warm and comfortable on bitterly cold days in the 10s with layers under it, as well as mild chilly days in the 30s and 40s. Beautiful jacket and gets the job done. 10/10

Nice and toasty!
Love this jacket! I had to get a medium though I'm 5'8, 115#. Jacket was a little tight through the shoulders.

Perfect Snowboarding jacket
Perfect for snowboarding in new england climate. I’m always cold but this jacket keep me warm in NH below zero temps. Fits snug when you wear the inner down with the shell. I would size up if you want something more loose.

Cute jacket!
Comfy and cute coat! I’m usually a size 4-6 or small in most things but I opted for the medium and it fits well with a little extra wiggle room for layers
