Why We Like The Redline Strap Climbing Shoe
For crushing power and versatility, we pull on the Redline Strap Climbing Shoe. Mad Rock's patented concave sole turns our feet into another pair of hands, grabbing holds for confident tension on overhanging sections and driving into tiny foot chips for greater security on vertical routes. They didn't skimp on the other end either, the grooved heel cup with dead-space-eliminating design gives us locked-in heel hooks every time.

Really nice, runs small
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
Really nice shoe at a great price. Take into account that Mad Rocks are 1 US Size smaller than a Scarpa Origin. Checked this for a Lotus and Redline. 1 US Size is the size of a dime, that's a big difference if your Scarpas fit nicely!

Already Loving Red Lines
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I only started wearing this shoe once my old shoes were discontinued, but I’ve actually found that I like these better. I have a pretty narrow heel, and I’ve tried a lot of different shoes and these have fit the best. The rubber is super sticky and lasts for a good while. They’re great in the gym and outside on reel rock. I will say these run a little small. I’m about two sizes smaller in these than my other madrock shoes. Also these shoes are written in the same font as Taylor Swift’s album Red so these are clearly the best shoes on the market.

The perfect combo

I've mostly climbed in the Madrock Drones but I'm happy that I chose to try the Redlines this time around. While the Drone is great for steep terrain and edging hard due to its stiffer rubber, these Redlines seem to me to be the perfect combo of a stiff chassis with softer rubber for sensitivity/stickiness. They fit really similarly to the drone if not a slight bit narrower than the HV drone. Was able to break these in fairly quick and look forward to using them for the rest of the season.

Shoes that make your footwork better

Hands down, the Redlines are the best aggressive shoe if you desire more feedback out of your steep rock shoes. One of the many things I like more about these shoes compared to the Solutions is the amazing sensitivity and flexibility and mid-foot spring tension you get out of the Redlines. The Solutions always felt too stiff and bulky, but the Redlines give you super connected feedback on your foot placements. It really feels like my toes are grabbing the rock features. The ability to sense what my toes have been doing really leveled up my footwork on steep technical problems. The toebox is generously covered in rubber, and I?m so glad they kept the same heel of the Drones on the Redlines. Please never get rid of these heels! They are the best heels ever... I wear size 9 M in street shoes and also size my Redlines in Size 9 for an out of the box snug fit. The vacuum fit on these are so satisfying. I love hearing that suction sound as you pull the shoes on. These shoes have become my go-to steep climbing shoe, but also its one of my favorite shoes to train in. The feedback that I get in my toes/footwork translates immensely to outdoor climbs.

Performance shoe for any angle.

A soft shoe that is at home at any angle. Soft enough to dig in on steep terrain, or smear on slabs and stiff enough to stand on the smallest of edges. I wear a 8.5 street shoes and an 8 in the Redlines fit perfectly.
