The Lowa Men's Zephyr GTX Mid TF Hiking Boot is rugged enough for service personnel so we know we can count on it when the going gets tough. Been using the Zephyr for over 10 years and always loved them. Have used many other boots but these are the most comfort and stability for me. Live in New Hampshire so lots of rocks, roots, mud, water, climbing. They always feel like I am wearing slippers. Hope the new Zephyrs wear as well as my last ones. Will keep you posted. Out of the box, today, they feel as good.

Title really says it. I have worn these boots for the last 3 years. They’re far from the worst boots I’ve ever had but are also not in my top 3. Probably #5 on my list. I wore these boots for work and day hikes under 10 miles with packs under 50 lbs. Pros: -durable -waterproof -good ankle support for a mid Cons: -insole is not very supportive for foot arches -persistent squeaking set in after 2 years

The shoes are very comfortable to wear and the color is also very beautiful. Even the new shoes have flaws. There is a small hole on the inside of the heel, which makes me feel very bad.

Overall quality: 9/10 Waterproof: 7/10 Comfort:10/10 Style:10/10 Durability:9.5/10 I purchased the Sage in size 12. I have had these out in all seasons and all terrain and slope types. The tread does chip off every now and then, especially in the beginning. On and off trail, they provide plenty of traction and great support as I have a weak right ankle. They are useless if hiking on a sheet of ice but that is fixed with yak-trax. I have logged a few hundred miles in 2-ish years and they function great as a hiking boot on green, blue, or black trails. After around 10 trips in 1’-2’ wet snow on higher elevation hikes, I know I pushed them beyond their design, but I can still trust them even though they are quite broken in. These are great in all seasons and I’ve never had any issue with them feeling too hot or cold with wool/cotton socks. I use them now as a weekend work boot putting on 15-35 miles a month and to slip on when going outside. Being on my feet 10 hours a day doing tree trimming on the weekends is not a problem with how comfortable these are. Hiking for a few hours in wet snow like I have is a bad idea unless you have an extra pair of socks with you(which you should anyways). Wet snow can get stuck/caked on near the toe rubber and that very negatively impacts waterproofing. They are phenomenal when out in the rain, but expect wet feet if you are digging in mud. Otherwise, the water proof or water resistance is certainly acceptable for average conditions. Definitely wise to avoid stepping into even a few inches of water. Waterproofing is the biggest drawback. Every other category has met and exceeded my expectations.

The Boots are comfortable and supportive out of the box. I?ve tried several pairs in the past few years and these were my favorite. BUT....After wearing these boots for a week I have managed to ruin the soles. I?m a land surveyor, which apparently means I?m extra hard on my boots. If you are routinely in a rocky environment I would avoid these.

These boots are awesome. True to size, and they look great! First time Lowa buyer, I can see what all the positive reviews have been talking about. Great boots.

I tried on these same boots in the same size at JAX Sporting Goods. The fit, feel, and support were completely different than the pair shipped to me. They did not support my heel, which was the main purpose for purchasing these boots. I wonder if these are factory seconds or knock-offs. It is unfortunate that I have to pay a shipping fee for defective merchandise. I will think twice before ordering from Backcountry again.

I've put about 80 miles on these, so far, and they're comfortable and holding up well. Everything still solid - today's hike in a heavy downpour was the first time I felt slight moisture through the Gore-Tex. Really nice on my feet, and love the design/color/details.
