Why We Like The Renegade GTX Mid Boot
Lowa has upgraded its popular Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boot with a new Monowrap frame construction that not only reduces the boot’s weight but also improves its stability for even greater comfort on our weekend hikes. Combined with a waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX membrane, women’s-specific last, and a stiffer shank for extra support, the Renegade GTX is ready for miles of hiking on anything from gravel roads to boulder-strewn backcountry trails.

These are my second pair. Best nature-hiking, dog-walking, snow-shoeing, outdoor-stroll boots EVER. My foot are hairs in these boots.

Great boots - super comfortable
These boots were super comfortable from day 1. I have wider feet and have no problems.

Great All Round Boot
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer

- 8.5
These are amazing. They have a wider toe box than a lot of boots without allowing you to slip around. It feels snug around the ankle when laced up and the laces don't budge during the day whether at work or on the mountain. And, I've gotten loads of comments and compliments and them, which is always a nice bonus!

My go to boots
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- US8
This is my third pair in 10 years. I like tall boots for day hikes and activities because it holds my ankles. Some people live in their tennis shoes, I live in my Lowas. They are light weight and well made. However it is not an aggressive 10 days strenuous hike type boot, it is more relax casual short hikes ones. Only downside I found that I wear out shoe lases before I wear out boots and sage colour shoe laces are not available for replacement, for example, so I just use paracord instead. Sizing is accurate as 39 European size is exactly US8 and they give it 1/2 size towards extra sock. As I read some sizing complaints I just wanted to give my two bits. Overall it is affordable and very well made boots.

I am new to backpacking and purchased 3 pairs of boots to try out. I love the sporty boot style, but worried that I’d need more support with a heavy pack. Also want a boot that looks good so color and style make a difference for me. After trying them all on with my pack, lots of reading reviews and articles the grey green/panna Lowa’s were the easy choice. Happy to say that after many miles of backpacking it was the right choice. They now have a perfect fit to my foot, but it never felt like I was breaking them in, they were comfortable from the start. I ordered a half size larger boot based on sizing recommendations in hiking boot articles, and the 8 is a comfortable fit for my 7.5 size foot. Secure fit with thick or mid weight socks, they clean up nicely and keep my feet dry through water, muck, mud. Thank you Backcountry and Lowa for a great intro to backpacking!

Love these !!

I bought a pair for both my daughter and I. They were worth it. We went hiking sunny 3 times this past week and there were perfect. Also used them to the beach (Washington ) where it was cold so just wanted to see it. There were lots of rocks and of course wet. They worked perfectly and ARE waterproof. My entire foot was splashed by a huge wave. And another time we walked through a lake. Definitely kept our feet dry. I will be buying another pair for myself. I wear an 8 but the 7.5 fit me perfect. No blisters left.

Not waterproof at all

Poor quality boots. Not waterproof at all. My feet are soaked from walking across damp grass and stay wet all day.

Horrible
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I normally don't write negative reviews ..but I think these should come with a warning. This is my third pair of hiking boots, I thought I would give a more expensive brand a try since I hike every weekend. I have a pair of Columbia's that had zero break in time, I had a pair of cheap Amazon $50 foxellis that were fantastic and crazy comfy, zero break in time, never one blister. These left horrible blisters on the back of both ankles within 2 miles of my hike. There is a bump on the heel inside the shoe, and because the shoe is so stiff you cannot stop it from rubbing even with Band-Aids and tape. Also, because they are so stiff you constantly have to stop and tighten up the ankle when going uphill. There is nothing worse than having a gear failure so bad that you cannot finish your hike. And when I only have weekends to enjoy them, these boots made me very angry when I realized I had to turn around. Returned them. Horrible.

My everyday shoe after foot surgery

I got these for hiking - then in 2019 I had foot and ankle surgery, so they became my everyday shoe. I joke that these are my dress shoes, my flip-flops, my knock-around shoes and my slippers - I wear them all the time! I find that they run true to size - also, I have full-foot orthotics, which work great in them when I remove the original footbed (which is removable - no effort at all). After 6 years of owning them - with 2 ° years of everyday wear - they are wearing out. I bought two pairs this time - two fun colors - so I really can change my mind. I suspect these will last me twice as long because of alternating between the two. Can't wait to have fancy new shoes! By the way - I love the colors - and for me - you could even do more fancy colors!

Buyer Beware- Inferior Quality Product

I wore these boots for a year and found them to be quite comfortable. I took meticulous care of them, cleaning the leather and the soles after every hike, hoping that I would get years of good use out of them. When I was preparing to condition and waterproof them for the winter, with the Lowa brand conditioner and water proofing product, I noticed a tear in the fabric inside, where they are laced. I filled out a warranty claim and submitted it to Lowa, expecting that they would provide good customer service and offer to replace them, like other companies do, i.e., L.L. Bean. When I called Lowa Boots, the customer service rep informed me that the tear was considered "normal wear and tear" and that they would not fix them or send me a new pair. For the price of $240, I would expect these boots would have held up better than they did. I will never buy a Lowa product again. Poor quality. Poor customer support from Lowa Boots.

Hi I bought this boot about 8-9 years ago in size 6.5. They have been my go to daily hiking boot all these years. I want a new pair and usually wear a 7.5 running shoe. These boots fit my feet the best and am wondering if I still stay with the same size as my current boots at the 6.5? Also, I am in Canada - do you have a Canadian affiliate?
