Commuter Trucker Jacket

Before the Commuter Series, a Levi's jacket and bike riding just didn't seem to go together. But, if you're like us, you combined the two anyways. Lucky for all of us, though, Levi's — a name synonymous with style — took on the challenge of making a bike-worthy, casual jacket. And, as a result, its Commuter Trucker Jacket is a true balance of its all-American style and the functionality that you need for daily riding.

The Levi's Commuter Series Trucker Jacket was designed with feedback from cyclists in urban centers across the US. Rather than just produce a "run of the mill" cycling jacket wannabe, Levi's constructed a jacket with the fit, durability and accoutrements that you'd expect from a cycling specific company. First, it features a stretch denim fabric for ease of movement while riding. It treated the fabric with a water-resistant and dirt-repellent NanoSphere protective finish to make commuting in hostile weather a little more tolerable. Levi's then incorporated an odor-resistant Sanitized finish to the jacket — perfect for when your destination is the office.

Levi's also gave the Trucker a cycling-specific cut. What does this mean? To start, the rear hem was elongated in order to provide additional coverage while you're stretched out over the bars. Additionally, the arms were lengthened for the same reason. Levi's has also cut the pattern of the Trucker on a slight contour with built-in stretch panels running parallel with the torso. Additionally, you'll find specific features for cycling like a large flapped-vent across the back panel so that you don't overheat. The elongated tail is capable of being moved up and out of the way with button closures. Furthermore, you're also able to let in or let out the waist hem with button closures that also double as reflective strips for low-light conditions.

For storage on your rides, the Trucker features rear back pockets (in traditional cycling jersey style), two buttoned chest pockets, and two hand pockets. The left side chest pocket features an earphone port. And if you're wondering how this jacket differs from the Commuter Trucker Denim jacket, the answer is easy. This jacket doesn't feature a hood, and its material isn't quite denim — making it slightly more breathable than its denim counterpart. Instead, you'll find this jacket's material is more akin to the 511 or trouser options from Levi's.
