Why We Like The Olympus Mons Cube S
The Olympus Mons Cube S is La Sportiva's warmest option for alpinists and mountaineers ascending the coldest, most extreme mountains on the planet. We certainly appreciate the reliable protection and technical prowess in arctic climates, but we'd be amiss to not mention its ease-of-use, quick-and-easy Boa dials, and removable thermal booties for base camp.

The most painful high altitude boots
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
The most painful high altitude boots that I have ever had. Each step with pain on the route, still can't recover after almost 2 months after Denali summit this June... very disappointed, don't know what to do - these are the most expensive boots in my life and such a bad inner liner blocking the blood circulation and making the bones rubbed up (i ordered 2-3 sizes up and I'm 10 years of experience in high altitude mountanering). All my boots are la sportiva but these are a huge regret and disappointment.

Great boot
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- 44.5
- Height:
- 5' 8"
- Weight:
- 155
Ordered and tried on (in my house) many of the other 8000m boots an though this was the most intuitive, easiest to use w/ gloves on and it had the most normal fit- think I have a normal shaped foot. The inner boot did rub raw and bruised my shin- even after wearing for many miles on different trips. And I noticed this with others on big mtns with this boot. Also recommend a foot bed/insole -consider size up- as otherwise it's a flat boot.
