Walking on clouds in the clouds
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times

Super comfy mountaineering boot. I bought this boot to climb the Ortler in 2025. I have used it in the Whites (NH) twice and to get used to it in Bear Mountain, NY. The BOA system makes all the difference to make the shoe feel like a glove. I got Petzl Crampons for them but haven’t tried in snow (yet). According to reviews the heel can be complicated in crampons but I think you just need a proper fitting. Speaking of size, I used the Mondo system (cm) to find my size which resulted in sizing up by half a size in US size. Overall, best mountaineering boot I ever had and I had the Mammut Taiss and Scarpa Ribelle before.

Light and Capable

They feel light, you can still kick in to medium to soft stuff and put your weight into them, and they protect your feet enough for fast shale descents and a little rocky mayhem… Even if barely. Zippers are a pain but I got used to them. Just spent seven days in them in Alaska, still holding up good. I used them for a quick trip in early may and my feet got cold but that could have been partially the fit/sock problem. Feet staid warm on this most recent august trip though.

Poor Zipper Quality
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- USM 11
- Weight:

Poor quality on the zipper, it got stuck from the first use. It took me almost 10 minutes to unblock the zipper in freezing weather and it no longer works. I had better expectations of a brand like La Sportiva.
