Why We Like The Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack
We like the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 because it's lightweight, easy to use, and capable of hauling just about any bike around—short of a 50-pound freeride monster. The Sherpa 2.0 supports two bikes up to 40 pounds each, and it features a foot-actuated pivot lever that we can use to unfold the rack, even with our hands full. Kuat modified the design to create a greater 14-inch space between bikes, so they both have plenty of personal space on longer trips.

My new Kuat

I bought the Kuat Sherpa back in December 2024, assembled it right away, and tested it on my car. The build quality is excellent, and I hope it performs just as well in use.

I bought the first version of this rack 12 years ago, and it still works great. I just bought two new ones for my vacation homes. This is a solid rack for both road and mountain bikes.

I just purchased a new triathlon bike, and with the carbon fiber frame, I feel confident my bike is safe and secure on this bike rack. The pricing was reasonable, as the accessories that come with ensure my bike doesn’t move or get scratched.

Great company

I bought this recently after looking at some other options from Kuat. Due to being in the same town as the company it is a very popular local brand around here. The Sherpa is the lightest of the racks I looked at which is great if it won’t just be left on the vehicle. I also bought their kayak racks and when I wanted all of the lock cylinders to match all I had to do was reach out to them and they handled right at their local no questions asked. The quality and ease of use is great, but this one is not expandable for more bike unlike others they make.

Light weight. Low profile
This rack is what I was hoping for. Minimal. No bells and whistles. Just a solid, reliable bike rack. Light weight. 15 lbs less than my OG Kuat rack. Kuat knows how to do it.

Great rack for road bikes

I bought the 2 inch version to transport my road bikes on long road trips. I wanted a rack that was sturdy and wouldn't harm the bikes while spending hours on the road. The rack has been fantastic. Unfortunately when I bought a new car I needed to switch from a 2 inch hitch to a 1.25 inch hitch. Luckily, Kuat has a rack for both situations.

One of the best MTB accessories I've ever purchased. This thing is extremely well built and should last for many years to come. Do yourself a favor, don't waist your time or money on something cheap trying to save a few bucks...buy this one! Enjoy!

Easy to use but blocks car's exhaust

It's very easy to load bikes onto this bike rack and fold it up and down. Unfortunately, the swing arm sits right in front of my car's exhaust ('18 BMW X1) when folded up so I returned it.

I was gifted a Sherpa 2.0 and installed it on my car yesterday but I can?t get the hitch pin unlocked to remove the rack. The metal flap over the key hole won?t move aside when I press the key to it, thus the rack is stuck on my car. I don?t want to have to cut the pin and buy another so are there any tips to unlocking a frozen lock?
