BBRight Bottom Bracket
While some cyclists may remain skeptical to ceramic bearings, after a few years of spinning on them, we're convinced, and we'd be pressed to say that the engineers at Kogel Bearings craft some of the smoothest rolling bearings for your bike. Take the Kogel Bearings BBRight Bottom Bracket for example — with its wide shell, and beefy stiffness that's only enhanced by ceramics. Kogel creates their bearings with a silicone nitride that combines a set of material properties making it ideal for cycling — we don't know all the ins and outs of it, but what we do know is that it's hard, resistant to wear, and can be made into a flawlessly round ball with super tight tolerances, followed by a smooth polish that can be perfected beyond metal. Plus, ceramic bearings don't rust or oxidize over time, keeping you rolling smooth and quickly year in and year out. This particular model takes on Cervelo's wide, asymmetric BBRight shell, built to space out the rear triangle and boost stiffness, and potentially more tire clearance. The drive side is left narrower to keep your crank arm and chainrings from interfering with chainstays, while the non-drive is moved out 11mm.
