As the name implies, the Kelty Tru.Comfort Camp Bed Single is a sleeping pad that offers nothing but the softest, dreamiest night's rest. The included stuff sack doubles as a fuss-free pump—you simply remove the pad, use the stuff sack to trap air, and then push that air into the Vortex valve on the sleeping pad. It takes 2 to 3 sacks of air to fill, and doesn't leave you out of breath at the end of the process. Once filled, the horizontal baffle and vertical sidewall construction provide a wide and smooth sleeping surface, even if you miss a pine cone or two, and a toasty layer of insulation keeps the cold ground from getting to you while you snooze.

Valve connection did not work
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Purchased this based on Kelty's reputation and because I have other Kelty items that are super well constructed. This however did not live up to that - the bag to blow it up is a pretty good design but the valve never connected well, so it was a wrestling match to get the air into the sleeping pad, and I had to try to hold the valve while pumping. I guess the valve is supposed to lock but mine did not. Got it to work once, and it is thick and comfortable. Spend 25 mins the second time and could only get a meager amount of air into it. Not worth the price.

Leaking from every seam
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Purchased a sleeping pad, and was quite pleased with the design features, the thickness and the inflation device. But only a few uses in, and frustratingly a bit outside the 1 year warranty...every seam on the thing seems to be failing simultaneously, leaking air quickly enough to deflate the entire thing to the ground in an hour or two of sleep. I used every bit of patching material that was sent with the pad chasing down leaks but they keep coming. Alas, a good design idea ruined by failing seams. wouldn't buy unless you plan on sleeping on the ground or waking up to fill your pad 4x a night.

Great for car camping
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times

Had this for over a year now and used it several times. Comfortable, easy to inflate with bag, and so far no leaks. We camp with three dogs and a cat and this mattress has held up to dogs walking on it. It's too big and heavy for backpacking, but great for car camping or kayak camping. Easy to adjust the firmness while laying on it if you position the release valve near your head.

Perfect- If using only once!

This review is actually for the Double Bed - same as here only twice as big. The first night we used the bed was fantastic - It worked like a charm, easy to inflate/deflate, it was just awesome. The second night at camp we awoke to it almost flat, and after the third night we quit using it altogether as it would no longer stay inflated at all. This product is a big disappointment and, at least for us, a total waste of money. So surprising for the usual top quality of Kelty goods. We are returning. FYI - My husband and I are average weight/height and took great care of the bed prior to and during use.
