need better quality control
got to tell you I purchased a pair of speed goats and found the quality lacking. the insoles slip up on one shoe every time I wear them. the go down on the other shoe sometimes. the vibram sole is coming off on one. I've only worn them about a dozen times for casual wear. too bad, otherwise they seem nice

A Step Backwards
I've always swore by the speedboat line. Purchased may pairs of the 4's and 5's in wide. The 6 feels completely different and not in a good way. Stiff and uncomfortable compared to previous models. Why change something that was so perfect? Now, I'm not sure where to go. I see 5's are still available but not in wide. I guess I have to start over on my search for my perfect trail shoe. :-(

Very Disappointing
This is my second pair of Hoka's (Hoka Arahi 6 was my first pair) and I was very disappointed when after hiking only 5.5 miles on a moderate trail the toe of the sole was peeling off... I've run nearly 500 miles the my Hoka Arahi 6's with no issues and I've run hundreds of miles in other shoes and have never had this issue. I don't drag my toe at all and this trail wasn't even that challenging or technical yet the Speedgoat 6's failed after only 5.5 miles!! This was very disappointing especially from a brand with the reputation of Hoka. It's worth noting that I think Hoka is a great brand and shoe manufacturer I love my Arahi 6's however the speedgoat 6 is just not it hopefully this changes!

Upgrade from the 5 but definitely not the GOAT anymore
You guys fixed the heel flare but the lockdown still leaves something to be desired. Midsole is nice and responsive but not sure it is soft enough for distances over 50 miles

The G.O.A.T of the goats!
Best version yet. Don't understand all the complaints. If you want mush for midsole, buy the Mafate Speed 4 or Zoom X Nikes. If you're a serious trail runner or mountaineer, and want a precise, nimble fit with excellent lockdown and traction, these are for you. More responsive than prior models and the platform is narrower. Toe box more forgiving. I had switched to Altras for 2 years because I got sick of Hokas narrow toe boxes but Altras just aint the same and the tox box of these is excellent. If you find these too firm, you're likely not running on terrain that justifies buying these because if you did, you'd find these plenty cush or you have some dainty, sensitive feet. These are best suited for any distance on rough, technical terrain, not buffed out flats. Switching back to Hokas for good!

They dig into my ankles
I run 10 miles a day everyday except the days I run longer runs. I loved the speedgoat 5's. I hit reorder my last order and got the speedgoat 6's. (Which was NOT my last order) they were great at first, but after the first week of using them they now dig into my ankles (try running 25 miles with your shoe digging into your ankle, very unpleasant.) I tried adjusting the laces and doubling socks, nope. So sad, I really love the Speedgoat style, especially the rubber soles. The other styles have that stupid foam that wears down super quick. Needless to say, I am very disappointed.

SAD SPEEDGOAT CUSTOMER
I bet I've had 10 pairs of Speedgoats. They were fantastic! I just ordered and returned the Speedgoat 6. They were huge and the construction was very poor. They should concertate on quality not how many crazy colors and patterns they can get on one shoe.

Very stiff compared to previous versions
I purchased my pair of SpeedGoat 6's at my local running shop, they fit ok in the shop and generally they do fit my heel to ball well, the toe box feels tighter than it used to though. overall I think it has potential to be a good shoe but O.M.G it is stiff, I do not know what it is but I feel like I'm stepping on a board with a thin layer of padding while using these. Mileage doesn't help either, they seem to continue to be stiff after putting down miles. I'll probably go back to my other shoes and get a different pair of trail runners down the line, which really sucks because I was excited about these.

Love at first step
Wore the soles off my speedgoat 5's so it was time to replace them. Tried the 6's and they feel very similar to the 5's which is exactly what I wanted

Staying With the Fives
I wanted to like the sixes but had to take them back. I've been a big Speedgoat fan and usually love the next iteration. I purchased these from my local running shoe store and ran four miles in them. Immediately after my run, my feet were sore. I put my Fives on and felt a big difference. I felt the sixes were more structured than the fives and narrower in the toe box. I found it hard for my foot to settle into the shoe's footbed. The fives feel softer. I am still sticking with Speedgoats for my fall races; I am just buying another pair of fives. Maybe the sevens will work.
