Why We Like The HOKA Kaha 2 Low GTX Hiking Shoe

The low-cut version of HOKA's most cushioned hiking boot, the Kaha 2 Low GTX is as comfortable as hiking shoes get. This lightweight hiking shoe features an absurd ratio of weight to cushion with its tall stack height of EVA foam, low 6mm drop, and a subtle rocker that rolls us into our next step. On top of all that cushy comfort, the Kaha also impresses with its durable and breathable GORE-TEX waterproofing and extra-grippy Vibram Megagrip outsoles for clutch footing on both dry and wet trails.

Great for walking

I love these shoes! I have 3 pairs in different styles, my all time favorite is the Tor Ultra Hi for work.

Not for long distances

The style is great and it looks very nice, but I bought them a size down after buying anothe pair in my hoka regular size which is 8.5, the 8 fitted perfect but I walked with them inside my house for 2 hours and my feet started tu hurt, not to mention my legs. I intended to use these for my trip to Camino de Santiago, I am a hoka transport fan, I have them in almost every color available, they are practically my every day shoe when I travel, I have walked 12-13 miles in a day wth them and haven´t ever felt discomfort, so I was expecting the same or much more from these kaha 2, but I am returnig them because I don´t think I am going to use them after all, I prefer to walk the Camino de Santiago with the hoka transports gtx that I alreeady have and if they are very worn at the end of the trip, I will gladly buy one more pair to replace them because they are so comfortable!!!

Love my Hoka's!!

I really wanted a leather pair of Hoka's for winter! These are great. They feel a little clunki compared to my summer pair but to be expected with leather...more weight! Best shoe for the amount of work (standing on concrete) and walking that I do!!

Very uncomfortable for hiking

Initially I only used these shoes for short hikes, and they were ok. After using them for a long hike (9 months after purchasing them) they were very uncomfortable after few hours and caused me terrible blisters. (I am an experienced hiker and I know how to avoid blisters, using the right socks etc..). I wished I could return them even if used or get a discount but the customer service did not give me this option. Very upsetting for such expensive hiking shoes.

Sole

The sole was rubbery, more for hiking. I'm retired and only walk in my flat subdivision pavement. I was assuming these were a sole like my other three pairs of Hokas.

Great shoe

Bought these to walk dogs through early morning fields with lots of dew and wanting to keep feet dry. I love them! IMO a bit clunkier than the running HOKAs i have been wearing, but perfectly comfortable for walking. Will take them to Switzerland in a couple of weeks and intend to use for some light hiking

I returned these

I loved the color, and they felt good on, but the sole of the shoe is extremely wide on the inside heel area, it sticks out like no shoes I've ever seen and I kept kicking it when I walked so these just weren't going to work for me.

Good for rainy walks

I bought these for walking in the rain - I live in southwest Washington and it rains frequently! These shoes are not as cushioned as my Bondis and I had to re-lace them in order to tighten to keep my heel stable. I haven't gone for a walk in these yet but I'm sure they will work out well for when it rains. I do wish that hola would make a waterproof walking shoe with extra cushioning - my feet would definitely be appreciative.

I didn't like how these shoes fitted!

I tried them at home before going on the trails, I'm glad I did because 20 minutes later my right foot began to ache.
