So glad I purchased these!
1000 Times more aggressive and better than micro spikes!! Love these! I will wear these and keep my micro spikes for a back up.

Best Crampons
I tried two other brands of crampons before these and returned them both. These one are perfect! Great grip and they stay on securely.

Fits my Keen Revel IV Polar boot
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- Large
I bought the Large size crampon to use with my size 10.5 Keen Revel IV Polar insulated boot. This was a good match, a little hard to install / remove with cold fingers but no signs of slippage on a steep trail of ice, snow and mud. The snow did not get packed into the crampon on this occasion and they worked well.

Ranch wear
Solid product, should have purchased years ago. Great working cattle in corrals, makes work around ranch easier.

Great performance, not great paint
Really excellent crampons. I feel totally secure hiking in them on hilly trails and on ice, letting me focus my attention on the surrounding environment. They pack down well (though they have some weight to them), and the carrying bag they come with helps keep any muck post-hike contained. My only issue is that the metal spikes came painted in black, which began to wear off after my very first hike. Leaves me feeling a bit unsettled to know there are little flecks of paint (microplastics?) I'm leaving in the environment. I would have been happy if they came just plain, especially considering I'm seeing the silver underneath so quickly anyway.

Love these, but...

This is my 4th pair of Hillsound crampons. And I do love these crampons, they are all I ever wear. However, the strap broke the second time wearing them on this pair. So now, I have paid a lot of money for something I can't even use. Very disappointing.

Definitely worth it for your next winter outing
I was very impressed with how well these worked on the inclines of snow-packed trails. Rather frustratingly, I managed to trip over myself halfway through a hike, and wound up cutting through a bit of the rubber harness on one foot. Still, they managed to stay mostly in place and provided more than enough traction. I’ll certainly be picking up a new pair soon enough.
