Omni Insulated Mitten

Workwear inspired gloves and mittens are all the rage in skiing and snowboarding these days, and for good reason—they are durable, easily waterproofed, and stylish. The Hestra Omni Insulated Mitten fits all of these characteristics and adds more winter-specific ones with its durable cowhide outer, and lightweight G-loft polyester insulation which traps heat over long periods of exposure to the elements. Integrated wrist cuffs with leashes ensure that your gloves don’t fly off the lift when you’re reaching for a snack or adjusting gear on-the-fly. The mitten’s entire outer is constructed with cowhide which supplies bomber durability as one would expect while simultaneously ensuring no moisture seeps through the mitts, even on the snowiest storm days. The neoprene cuff adheres to the shape of your hand and wrist to prevent unwanted snow, ice, or wind from creeping into the mittens.

Run small - sizing is the reason for 3 *

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Ordered online, size 11. I wear Hestras in 11. Lengthwise, I'm a solid 11 (when you find charts that have both measurements), although the circumference of my hand puts me in size 10s, according to Hestra's sizing chart. I found the Omni Mitts short: my middle finger pronouncedly touches the inside of the glove. I also found the design to be tight (tighter than Leather Heli Ski, which I've already tried skiing). Even more so, given the fact that I'd be a 10 according to Hestra's chart. Apart from that, the gloves are well built and seem really warm (didn't test them outside, though, just in comparison to my Heli 3-Fingers). I like the minimalistic design (no carabiber loop, etc). I'm returning the gloves because of the size. Sizing is the reason for the 3 stars.

Not as warm as I hoped

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Had high hopes for these but they don't do much for me on cold days (less than 25 degrees F). If you're hands are always cold like mine, look elsewhere. They are very comfortable and look nice, but do not work great when temps are below freezing. Not worth the money in my opinion.

The WARMEST

Size Bought:
6

My hands are literally always cold. I bought these mittens for skiing and absolutely love them. I've used them for resort skiing, touring, belaying, and just casual days in the cold. They are super high-quality, so comfortable, and warm. I accidentally bought a size too small, but they still fit fine and can even accommodate a hand warmer. They also keep your hands dry, especially if you reinforce the waterproofing with the treatment they come with.
