Great jacket!

Familiarity:

Large

The jacket is very warm and has lots of good features. The only short coming is the external chest pocket is Very shallow and everytime I open it on the lift stuff falls out. Would be perfect if it were deeper and had a second zippered pocket inside of it. Part of the issue is that the Internal and external pockets are back to back which limits space.

I absolutely love this jacket! I ordered the Iced Matcha and it the most lovely color, a light springy green. This jacket fits great. The jacket fits well with enough room underneath to add a layer or two. I love the phone pocket on the chest that is extra insulated. The arms are long, but it’s actually a nice feature as I can reach my hands over my head and not expose any wrist. The jacket is surprisingly warm and the hood that fit over your helmet and face guard is good for keeping the wind out. Quality is great!

Order size down!!!

This jacket comes HUGE! I usually wear a size S/M. I ordered small and it is HUGE! Order size down. I also ordered HH pants and they were also HUGE. Apparently HH does their sizing differently than other companies. The armpit area is also very tight while the arms are ridiculously long. I really wanted to love this jacket, but couldn't. Otherwise, quality seems very good and as advertised. I also love the purple/orange color.

Great Ski Jacket

Familiarity:

I have found this jacket to be a great investment in my skiing endeavors. Yes, the arms are long, but I like that the sleeves will cover half of my mittens, providing more insulation, no matter what position my arms are. There is internal hand fabric to put your thumb and four fingers through. There is no dearth of pockets, either! HH thought of everything, pockets for my gloves, goggles, cell phone, and even a special pouch for my ski pass. I am 5’6”, 130 pounds, and the relaxed fit size S was perfect. It is roomy enough for me to not feel constricted in any way. It keeps me warm. I like that the hood can go over my helmet for windy days, and the fun color with black and neon orange accents look cool. I love it so much.

very awkward design

Loved everything about this jacket on paper: great colors, quality brand, plenty of pockets, longer design. However was a bit disappointed when trying it on with my ski gear. The sleeves are way too long and very awkward to use with velcro and any gloves someone might definitely want to wear. In addition, I did not enjoy the design of the collar that must be zipped up all the way over a helmet and can't really be worn any different way if you dont want your neck to freeze. There are plenty of times that I want to not wear a hood over my helmet and want to cool down a bit, but hate having to feel a drastic change in temperature on my exposed neck. The only way to avoid this is to keep the front part zipped up, covering half of your face, just very awkward design. The jacket also runs narrow around the hips area and gets tight while wearing bulky ski pants. I would order a size up in this case but given the already long sleeves, would not want even longer sleeves to deal with.

Sleeves too long

I bought this in size small. I liked the jacket itself - seemed to have all the things I wanted in a ski jacket, plenty of good pockets, insulated, nice color (purple), wrist gaiters. I debated what size to get and using the size chart and Helly Hansen's website's size estimator, which suggests S or M. I'm 5'2" and about 130 lbs, small bust ~32. I prefer to buy outerwear slightly large, especially for skiing, because may need to put several layers underneath. The body itself was large and generous, which I didn't mind since I'd rather have space to layer if needed. The real problem was the sleeves. They were extremely long, like an entire hand's length too long. Even with tightening up the cuffs of the sleeves, it was still fitting very oddly and bunched up throughout the arm to the shoulder area. I would like to try this in a smaller size, but paying for return shipping twice gets expensive, so I'm returning it instead. Probably worth trying if you have longer arms. Disappointed as I really wanted this to work.
