Best boots I have worn
Amazing boots I ordered these because a pair of custom boots are taking too long. These are handmade boots that feel comfortable on day one i probably have 120ish miles on them both work and leisure the comfort is only getting better and the boots take anything thrown at them the yak leather is worth the price in my opinion I may be investing in a second pair of these to rotate they are that good

Great fit and feel.
Had for 8 years now and they should last till I die. I take meticulous care of these boots. They get a nice oil and wax coat after my hikes and then are placed in boot socks when not in use. Few boot companies make this quality today.

Next to perfection
I got this because I walk everywhere I go. So far I have used them in the winter mainly in urban surroundings (here in Helsinki this also includes forest). I walk 5-25 km a day all year round, and especially in the winter we have a lot of bumpy ice on the streets all over the city and ots trail parks. The sole is tough enough to avoid pain you tend to get with ”normal” city shoes from the uneven ground. For this purpose I’d give them 5/5. The boots were spot on straight from the box. No break in what so ever. For me the last does not allow too thick socks. With thick winter socks they start to press painfully on the outer side of my foot after a few kilometers. But somehow the boots are warm enough even with a single hiking sock or a liner and a thin hiking sock even in the winter (I normally layer up to three socks with my shell boots, that I use when the temperature is around zero and the city is covered with salty wet mush - these are too nice to spoil with street salt). The stichings is has been a problem, and I should take these for repair. Other boot has aprox 2 cm open stiching in the back of the boot. If it wasn’t for that, I’d give these 5/5. Also the leather surface is easily damaged, which is the other reason for a 4 star review. I wouldn’t take these for a week’s trek in Scandianavian conditions. Boots tend to get wet due to the fact that most wilderness areas here have a lot of swamps etc and wheather in Lapland can be very unpredictable. The material is quite thick, so drying them for the next day could be an issue and no one wants to walk a week with a heavy backpack and wet boots on (I used to rely exclusively on rubber boots because of this before moving to shell boots ). Also with a heavy load (20 kg is normal to start with if you go out for a week) I’d hesitate whether they have enough angle support. But for a day trip or a trail hike with a light load I’d feel confident that they will perform. Overall they serve me perfect for what I got them for, and I think they should work just fine for just about any Central or southern European conditions. And aesthetically they are suberb.

Perfect fit, rad look!
The Hanwag Tashi looks, fits, and feels fantastic. I’ve owned a ton of boots and shoes over the years, and these immediately jumped right to the top for me. I wear a size 12 in athletic shoes, though I sometimes size down to 11 for boots, which sometimes run big. My feet are ever so slightly wide, but mostly I wear standard width shoes and they almost always fit fine. Based on reviews I decided to trust the “true size” recommended by Hanwag and sure enough, size 12 fits me perfectly. I especially love the lacing system, which makes them easy to get on and off, but makes your foot and ankle feel perfectly secure, with no weird tight or hot spots. Admittedly, these boots are relatively expensive, but you get what you pay for. I haven’t tried these boots out on any long treks yet but I’m confident they work as advertised, which is to provide a stable and sturdy boot for serious hiking. But they look and feel awesome.

So worth it!
I received these 4 weeks ago and have been wearing them daily. I absolutely love them. They are the best built, highest quality, and most comfortable hiking boot I’ve ever had (and I’ve owned many). Straight out of the box I wore them on a 1 mile nature walk. The next day, a 3.5 mile trail hike. They needed almost no break in; the yak leather is thick yet supple. I found a hunting store within driving distance that carried some other Hanwag styles, tried them for fit, and was confident the size I ordered would work (my regular size). They are a substantial investment in footwear, but oh so worth it. You get what you pay for.

Amazing Boot
The initial price may be shocking but these are truly the best boot I have ever purchased. I'm 57 and consider myself quite active. I wear the Tashi Yak to work in my teaching role and also wear them to Church. I have 3 pairs of Yak Hanwag boots. One pair for outdoor work, others for casual work. One pair has been resoled twice and still looks great. Yak is thicker, has almost no break-in. The support and comfort is exceptional.
