- The anodized coating also delivers non-stick performance, doesn't need to be seasoned like cast iron, and seals the aluminum away from your food
- To cook, just set this outdoor dutch oven over bed of hot coals and close the lid
- To bake, throw a few coals over the tight fitting, rimmed top for even heating When you're done cooking, remove the oven with the sturdy bail-wire handle

Highly versatile pan
I have the 10” hard anodized GSI Dutch oven and it is highly versatile. The hard anodized surface is reasonably nonstick, and what it gives up in this area to per fluorocarbon coatings or cast iron it more than makes up for in durability. Cleaning up with Brillo steel wool soap pads or Bar Keepers Friend won’t hurt it (just don’t put it in the dishwasher). _x000D_ I was also pleasantly surprised to find that the 10” size also fits inside my compact Breville toaster oven (BOV650) for cooking dishes without firing up the big oven and overheating the house in summer. I have used it this way for making cornbread many times, and it delivers a nice crunch crust and comes out of the pan easily. _x000D_ I have baked cinnamon rolls over a wood campfire with it with excellent results. _x000D_ If you are concerned about sticking just put a sheet of baking parchment paper inside. Lodge makes big precut circles for this which can also minimize cleanup effort.

A bit short
Only 2 qt in capacity because it is a bit on the short side -- presumably to allow nesting. This 2 qt capacity is specified on the product label, but the product label is not shown in any of the product images here or elsewhere. The Lodge cast iron 10" has a 5 qt capacity. Still debating whether a 2 qt oven makes any sense in the field.

Great product
I've owned an original 10" aluminum for 20 years and my wife confiscated it for the kitchen, it's the handiest pan we own. I bought this one and the anodized feature is very nice, food glides nicely and so far it cooks just like the old one. The reason for 4 stars is I don't like the dual handle, period, I understand it's likely there for lifting balance but for me it's in the way. The pic on the website showed 1 handle but that wasn't the case. GSI makes great products and obviously puts a lot of thought into them, thank you GSI.
