Multi cam mode doesn’t work with GoPro 12
Super disappointed that the got pro 12 does not work with the remote. Well, it does, but once the cameras shut off and you go to power and back on with the remote the GoPro 12 does not recognize the remote anymore and you have to re pair it every time. Works fine with my GoPro 10 and 11 though.

Screen lasted less than 1.5 years
I received the remote as a gift for Christmas 2022 and loved using it while skiing. Unfortunately during a Ski trip in early March 2024, the pixels in the screen started to fail and then became unusable a few days later. I reached out to see about a replacement or getting it fixed, but was told the 1-year warranty had expired and fixing the screen would likely cost more than buying a new remote. I was offered a discount code for my troubles, but this 15% off was only for new cameras. UNACCEPTABLE!

Remote is great but functionality of the strap is limited for
I got this remote to use while snowboarding. The strap is way too small to go around my wrist when jacket is on. Make strap with a greater length and adjustment to solve for one of the key use cases.

Remote (2020) - hard to find the GoPros + ----
it is hard to find the GoPros (11 + 12) When the camera starts, the remote stay in "SEEK-Mode". When you wanna shut the Remote down, it starts again bei itself. Not very satisfactory. not recommended

GoPro lies that this works with GP12, it doesn't. DON'T BUY!
The remote does not work with the latest GP12 even though it's advertised it does. You cannot use multicam with a GP12 and any other GP. The remote will wipe out all the settings and refuse to work. This is a known defect GoPro knows about and isn't working to fix.

It is not waterproof
The first time rain hit the remote control, water got into the charging type-c. Now charging is not working. It's rusty. Well, why didn't you make a waterproof split type C ?

No backlight!
It’s sturdy and good quality. Paired with my GoPro Hero 12 immediately, and did a software update. What I don’t understand is why or how they ended up making this without a backlight. If the environment isn’t bright enough to see the screen, you will have to use the GoPro’s screen to make changes. Which may not be possible if you’re moving and want to start recording. The setting and mode buttons can be very hard to press.

Not reliable
I use The Remote with two Hero 9’s. It constantly loses connection to the cameras. Been in contact with GoPro support and went through all the firmware updates, and factory resets, but still no solution. Don’t waste your time and money buying this for the 9 black. Disappointing.

Needs better waterproofing
I love this and its a game changer for kayaking were i can’t reach the camera. However i had to replace it as it wouldn’t chrage anymore. The camera has a water tight flap but this remote has a flimsy rubber flap which i don’t think seals all the time even though it looks closed. A must requested improvement.

Not a solution forthe ocean
On my third remote in less than 6 months due to the poor design of the charging slot cover - a flimsy rubber flap, hinged on a thin layer of rubber that does not keep water out. The flap is easily knocked open and the rubber hinge wears away from opening and closing. I use the remote on my wrist with the camera mounted on an outrigger canoe. Seawater will get in, corrode the charging slot, and eventually the remote will stop charging. I am a long-time GoPro user, have had most models since the first GoPro, and cannot believe how bad this design flaw is. The actual remote is basic and does the job fine. I now have to rinse with fresh water, pump with compressed air and the spray with contact cleaner/protector after each use - I will see how long the latest one lasts. GoPro really need to sort out this flimsy rubber cover on the next model.
