Solar panels are capable of gathering plenty of energy to power the devices we need, whether we're car camping, working on a remote photo shoot, or staying at a yurt for a weekend. Making the problem of storing solar energy easier, the Yeti 500X Portable Power Station improves on Goal Zero's previous designs by integrating a Li-ion battery to the system, which increases surge allowances and reduces weight and bulk of the battery pack for a more compact and efficient way to store our power.

Good for Mountain Bikes
I bought this to remotely recharge my mountain bike (Specialized Turbo). I can get multiple charges going from 25% to 90% in a few hours. Easy to operate. No problems at all.

CPAP monster
Camping used to be guaranteed to mean bad sleep, headaches, and snoring to possibly attract Bigfoot. This powered my CPAP for 2 full nights of sleep and still had 10% of its battery left. I’m excited to take some more trips in the pop-up. It aint cheep, but it is worth it.

Open box model
I bought this as an additional battery to run our camping fridge. It came in a regular. Goal zero packaging was present. All was as if it were new.

Probably won’t do this again.
This unit squeals while it’s charging and does not charge effectively much of the time. I’m pretty disappointed that I spent so much on something that isn’t what I wanted at all.

2 year review
I have owned my Yeti 500X for 2 years. I have tried several other brands of power stations and each one has some limitations which I have yet to find in the 500x after multiple camping seasons. Most power stations will shut off when they have a low energy draw. I use this for My CPAP machine and when it's running, it would never pull enough to keep the other power stations from turning off forcing me to reset the power station multiple times per night. I have had ZERO issues with the 500x doing this. I can run my CPAP for 2 nights with no problem. The other feature that most do not have is you are not able to charge them while in use. I connect a 100-watt solar panel to the 500x and while it is charging I also use it to charge my phones and tablets. While there is a bit of a cost difference between Goal Zero and other brands, the added cost is worth the features you get. 10000% recommended. I will be adding a Yeti 700 here soon to add power to my overland van build.

So small but BIG POWER!
I had the old YETI 400 and the bigger ones (I can't remember the number) for many years and finally they were dying (after being in sun, rain, heat, everything). So time to buy a new one. Open Box purchase is a no brainer...I know Goal Zero would give a good one. And wow! This one weighs half of my old one but just as much power! I love it! Yeti's have really improved over so many years. But also goes to show how long they last...I didn't know they've shrunk without compromising on battery life. GREAT! Here's to another 10-15 years!

I am in search of a portable charging station to use for a battery tender on a motorcycle 12V battery. Bike is in a heated parking garage with no outlet access. Would the Yeti 500 work for that? Would a smaller model be able to fit the bill? Thanks!

What is the maximum dB the portable power station's fan will emit when running under high load? Also, what is the threshold of power load that triggers the fan to command on? Under that threshold will it trigger intermittently or remain off entirely?

Hi, could you please confirm the max solar input rating on the 500X? I see some older q&a indicating 200W, but the specs and phone support have indicated 150W max.

Can I have my Yeti 500x connected to a Boulder 100 solar panel and to the power outlet at the same time? My Goal is to make the Power Bank to charge from the outlet if there is not enough Sun. I'm currently using it as a Backup system for my small office.
