New to the Goal Zero family and designed from the ground up, the Yeti 1500X Solar Generator is one of the most innovative and versatile portable power stations to be created yet. Built-in surge allowances and multi-stage protection means it's compatible with a wide range of devices, from lights and laptops to power tools and refrigerators, so you can use it during emergency power outages, at base camp on expeditions, when working in the field, or just on an extended weekend camping trip.
There are two ways to charge the Yeti plug it into a wall charger before your trip and have it fully charged within 14 hours. It's also compatible and chainable with Goal Zero's Boulder solar panels (not included), with recharge times ranging from 36 hours to 3 hours, depending on which Boulder model you have and how many of them you have. And if you're wondering just how much juice you'll get out of a full recharge, you can expect it to run a refrigerator for 21 hours, 31 charges for a laptop, 70+ charges for a smartphone, and 230+ charges for a GoPro or headlamp. So while it may take a while to fully charge the Yeti, it can last you a long while depending on your usage.
The Yeti's award-winning design features an informative display that lets you monitor usage data in real time, letting you keep an eye on runtime/recharge time estimates, as well as an output and input meter. Goal Zero also included plenty of other information with the Yeti, including storage and downtime maintenance tips, best-use strategy, and cold-weather usage so you can make the most of your power station.

It just works!
The Goal Zero Yeti 1500X is my new best friend! At home, it saved the day during outages—keeping my phone, laptop, and even a mini fridge humming like a champ. No loud gas generator nonsense, just quiet, clean power wherever its needed. Camping? Oh, it just works! Powered our lights, tunes, and kitchen appliances with ease— it also keeps my 12v cooler going all weekend without a issue. It’s tough, easy to lug around, and the display is like a little power crystal ball. Charge it with solar or the wall, and boom—ready for action. This beast rocks for home or the wild and anywhere in between!

Easy to put together.
For being a first-time user. We or happy. It was easy to set up. I did not like that the panels come in lightweight bags. We got some light weight foam wrap when we up them up. We really the rack that it went on.

Money Product
This unit is top notch! Works great and this isn’t a paid review. I needed something to run my Nespresso machine and other small appliances when living in me Sprinter. Even had an issue with the first unit, goal zero sent me a return box. Once the labeled was scanned for the return, goal issue instantly sent the replacement so I wasn’t without more than 2 days. Can’t say enough about my experience with Goal Zero. Solar briefcase is money, also integrated the link to my alternator so I’m charging when I’m driving, charging when I’m parked I’m charging all day long!! So Hurry Up and Buy!

Great for an off grid desert property
This was exactly what I needed for my off grid desert property. And it saved me from having to replace the old car batteries that had died. The solar panels are better than my old ones on the roof that don’t move with the sun.

Nice
My brother has an older 1500 and swears by it. He travels for business in a Mercedes van and uses his extensively. That was good enough for me.

Owner of: 500,1000,1500,100&200watt folding panels
I have the 500, 1000 and now the 1500. They all work as they should and I am happy with them. I mostly use them to run a camp refrigerator and coffee maker, they seem to do fine. The 500 and 1000 take a while to change off the 100 watt panel but the 1500 charged great off the 200 watt. Very easy to use, very mobile and I am doing my best to not fixate on battery life. Overall, happy with all 3.

Great product
So far I love this power bank. I paired it with the 600w charger and it’s met all expectations. Highly recommend. Taking this out for camping and traveling I know I’ll feel confident I’ll have power on hand and when needed.

Portable, easy to use, very convenient for camping
I recently went tent camping in the winter cold and enjoyed a toasty little heating pad around my body the entire night thanks to this battery bank! The panels are not too heavy or clunky either and I am glad they come with their own carrying case.

1500: What to keep in mind when choosing station
I've purchased the 500 and 1500 of the power stations, and here's some pro's / con's to help with your decision: Before picking the battery station, take a careful look at the voltage of what you want it to run. The battery stations will show error sign (and risk ruining) if you put too much load on it. The 1500 can handle high output appliances like hot plates, kettles, microwave, etc, as listed. I don't think the duration is as long as the larger battery stations, so I'd say it's perfect for a night - couple of night getaway using those high output appliances. And a good alternative to needing a propane stove. The only downside vs the 500 is the weight (45 lbs), so it's kind of a lot to lug around if using for tent camping. The 500 is limited on voltage, and so won't work on hot plates or really any heating devices. It works great for hooking up a laptop / tablets / phones / lanterns to charge while away from the grid. It is very light (15 lbs I think), so very easy to move around and fit on a picnic bench for camping and such. Also, keep in mind the PRICING, which can vary based on sales. In December 2024, I got this thing about 30% off (probably the lowest all year), but I'd say in the 10-20% off range, it's still a good value for the quality of station.

Is there a way to do a reset of some type if the front 8mm charger stops charging? It blinks, but doesn't charge. The charger under the lid does charge. Though is it normal for the charging lights to blink?

YETI 1500X spec says "Lifecycles: 500 Cycles to 80% capacity (Discharge rate: 1C, Full charge/discharge, Temp: 25C)" What does that mean? If I discharge to junder 80% overnight, then recharge with solar the next day, will my battery last only 500 days?

Hi Can you charge the Yeti 1500 for example from a 12v car battery, but via an inverter allowing for faster charging than 150w/10a In one case the engine/alternator will be running avoiding draining tha battery and in the other case the car is a hybrid

I am planning an off-road DYI truck camper build. The Goal Zero 1500 with solar fits the needs for my build (as well as providing back up paper during outages). What clearance do I need around the unit to secure it in an open cabinet?
