Upgraded from Instinct 1
I love this watch even more than my original Instinct that I wore faithfully for 3 years. Some of the best “new” features for me (other than solar, of course): 1. Connect IQ access - really improves the options for customizing the watch for my needs. 2. My experience this winter is that the downhill ski feature is MUCH improved. Only once did it misread a lift/run transition. 3. (Surprisingly) the built-in flashlight. It is perfect for those times when you need a little light but don’t need the hassle of carrying a headlamp with you. OVERALL: Absolutely worth the money.

Great battery life, reliable, stylish, easy to use. I use this mainly to track workouts and hikes but there are many different features I have yet to use. The compass and track-back features is great!

Great watch. Love the solar. Tracks all of my activity types - winter through summer. I was surprised at the wide array available. Helps motivate movement even when having a down day. The main screen packs a lot of information and is customizable to what stats are most important to the wearer, which I appreciate. As I learn more about what feedback it can provide, I think it will be even more useful. The one knock is it is a bit bulky, especially for a smaller wrist.

Love this watch. Not a distraction like other smartwatches seem to be. The flashlight is way more useful than I thought it would be. It's the bigger version of the instinct 2 but it really doesn't feel that big.

Persistent.
Through training in both harsh sun and thunderstorms. Solid price for all the optics it comes with.

The best work watch out there
I'm a wildland firefighter which means I work outside in rugged and remote areas and I don't always have reliable power sources to hook up to. I previously owned the instinct solar and decided to upgrade to the 2x solar. I am supper impressed with the battery life as I've only had to charge it once in the month and a half that I've had it. It's also super durable so I don't ever think about damaging it as it is almost indestructible. The fitness features also come in handy tracking my trends over time so I have a good idea of where my health is at. All in all I am really happy with my purchase and I will continue to purchase Garmin products.

Great Watch Overall
I have worn this watch every day for over a year now. I use it to track every workout, every sleep cycle, and I use it as a guide for my calorie expenditure for fitness tracking. This watch likely has more capabilities that I have to use it with an insanely comprehensive app. The built-in flashlight is also incredibly handy. I have two small issues with the watch: One is that it never maintains a constant connection with my iPhone, so things like weather tracking are not available unless I sync with the app constantly. Not a big issue because I can simply check my phone. The second is that not long after getting the watch, I noticed a small scratch on the glass. The watch was advertised to have incredible scratch-resistant glass, and I don't recall putting it through much of a beating, so this was a little disappointing. Nevertheless, it is a great tool for health tracking and everyday utility.
