Forerunner 945 HR
If you're looking to improve your athletic performance, nothing beats having quantifiable metrics to monitor and analyze your efforts both during and after your activity. Garmin's latest Forerunner 945 HR gives you and your coach the tools you need to have you performing at your best in a watch that's stylish enough to wear for every occasion. Add in the ability to sync music from streaming services or store up to 1,000 songs on your watch, and connect with headphones (sold separately) enabled with Bluetooth technology for phone-free listening and Garmin Pay allowing you to make convenient payments with your watch so you can leave your cash and cards at home and you have one of the smartest smartwatches on the market.
The new 945 gives you the ability to monitor multisports with ease, thanks to its built-in activity profiles for running (indoor/outdoor), cycling (indoor/outdoor), swimming (pool/open water), hiking, and others. It even has an auto multisport feature that lets you switch sports with a single button press for brick workouts and while transitioning during duathlon and triathlon races. Other features include barometric altimeter for tracking elevation changes, GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo sensors for tracking speed and distance, Garmin Elevate wrist-based heart rate, training status to determine if you're training productively, peaking, or overreaching, and lactate threshold and VO2 monitoring. Increased battery life allows you to train for longer between recharges, lasting up to 2 weeks in smartwatch mode, 10 hours in GPS mode with music, or up to 60 hours in UltraTrac mode.
Not only is it ideal for the tri sports of running, swimming, and cycling, but it also has features for cross-country skiing, paddle sports, trail runs, hikes, and golfing among others. To customize its use to your preferred outdoor activities, you can create tailored workouts with the Garmin Connect app (for both iPhone and Android). For additional cycling statistics, you can pair the Forerunner 945 with a powermeter.

Pairing with phone necessary every day
My Pixel 8pro phone and my 945 no longer allow re-connect in the background. Every time I get more than 30 feet from my phone, I am forced to re-pair the watch as if I just bought it. For me this is multiple times per day. Please patch the firmware in the watch and/or Connect app.

Android Bluetooth Connection Broken
I have had my Forerunner 945 for a long time. I like it and I wear it daily. My reason for writing this negative review is because of the out of control disconnects between the Garmin Connect app on Android and the Forerunner 945. For the past two weeks or so every disconnect has caused a system message to Forget the Forerunner in Settings. That message pops up again 10 or 15 seconds after being cancelled ... beeping and obstructing the screen. I realize that it's possible to turn it off, but that turns off a bunch of other notifications as well. Some of the recent disconnect scenarios have caused the Forerunner 945 to fully disconnect from Garmin Connect requiring full reinstallation.

Coming from another smart watch I love the robustness of this one. It is an excellent value for its size and function--one of the smallest and cheapest Garmins having full maps. If you are new to Garmin it takes some getting used to the menu structure. The charging cable that comes with it isn't great and I prefer the aftermarket 90deg chargers. Battery life and charging speed is remarkable. I recommend this watch for everyone doing hiking or trail running. Great for smaller wrists too.

Battery issue
Just start using yesterday and noticed that the battery drained out very fast, full charged can only last 3/4 of the day without any activity, just normal usage.

Minimal and Awesome
I love the functionality and minimalistic look of this watch. It is my go-to for daily wear and tracking my metrics! It is easy to use and has a charming customizable display. It tracks my sleep, stress, workouts, and heart rate. It is great for weekend warriors and athletes who don't want to track too much. I highly recommend this Garmin product and will be looking to use it for years to come.

Clunky and buggy
Battery life is the only saving grace. Set up is a clunky mess. The app and watch interface is unintuitive. Nothing but issues syncing or trying to add GPX files for navigation. Have reset, reinstalled, signed out, signed back in numerous times and still can’t get it to add courses from the app the the watch. Don’t waste your time, just buy a Coros.

Great functionality and user interface. Used in a variety of functions with run data and body metrics as primary use. So far no issues with battery life. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing watch
Great all around watch if your looking for something for simple daily use and giving notifications that can also provide incredible workout data that is very helpful for keeping track of. I do however wish there was active gps mapping for the mountain biking activity similar to how the hiking map works. It would be helpful to actively check the gps map if your phone has no connection while the watch does.
