Best and Worst Jacket Ever
I bought the new orange version of this jacket in XL. It was perfect. Super stylish, fantastic fit, lovely colour - it was everything I wanted in a rain jacket... until I wore it in the rain. That's what led me to give this jacket a two-star review. I wore it for the first time to work on a rainy day, and walked from one building to another across the street for a total distance of 20 meters. There were large splotches of moisture on certain parts of the jacket, so I opened it up to check to see if any got through, and it did. I'm confident that it wasn't condensation, because of the duration and temperature outside, so it was clearly water soaking through. I immediately brought it back and returned without issue, which was appreciated. I'm really disappointed because I absolutely loved the style of the jacket. If they could make it waterproof like they say it was, I'd immediately buy it again. I love Fjallraven, and have bought a number of their products in the past. This was the first time I was let down, so I'm hoping they correct this production/design error.

You'll be wet
I can confirm that you'll become wet in this jacket very quickly. I can't say whether it's because the jacket not being waterproof or because of an internal moisture. I expected much more from the brand

Does "hydratic" mean "waters flows through freely"
Soaks through after 20 mins in moderate rain.

NOT waterproof. .
After 30 minutes in rain this jacket is 50% saturated. On the plus side.. it looks good and fits nicely. Conversely, the matching pants do seem to be living up to the waterproof claim.

Not waterproof
Not waterproof per other reviews! Very expensive jacket that does not protect in a 30 minute shower. Sizing is fine.

Light rain jacket.
The jacket is good for light rain and it should keep you clean of the water FOR some hours. However, water seem to get into the fabric making it wet overtime so I recommend having another jacket or clothes under it. or just buy a Gortex jacket.

Nice and dry
I don’t wear this as a shell jacket I wear this as a warm weather rain jacket and its perfect for that. Im 6’ 250lbs and muscular build and I prefer XL with a tshirt underneath

Exactly what I thought the jacket would be
I've been watching a number of reviews prior to purchasing this rain jacket, and finally pulled the trigger when I had an opportunity to try it on in store. The mustard colour is great in person, but what I'm really impressed with is the build quality. All of the reviews talk highly of how well constructed this jacket is, and I can't disagree. What I wasn't expecting was how the slight stretch in the jacket would clearly separate it from other similar rain jackets from other brands. It makes it a very comfortable rain jacket. My only knock? Sizing is really confusing and I'm glad I was able to try it on in store. Based on the size guide, I would have purchased an XXL online. I have a 46" chest (6'4" and around 225 lbs). My Abisko trail fleeces are XXL. My Abisko Midsummer jacket is an XL. I bought a L. This isn't without precedent: I have a Greenland jacket in a L, and it fits fine. You might say "you'll never be able to layer with it!" Well... I went looking for a thick fleece in store and had it under the jacket and it fit fine. So yeah - this jacket fits large. I think I would have been fine with an XL, but I like the slightly slimmer fit of the L.

Above and beyond
Amazing product. I bike and hike in the northeast and this jacket has held up in some pretty bad weather.

High quality rain jacket
This jacket feels like very high quality, and there are a lot of small design elements that add up to make it an excellent choice for both everyday wear and for outdoor use. The sleeves are longer to allow freedom of movement, the jacket hem is longer so that it goes well over the belt line, the vent zips on the sides seem more intuitive than ones under the armpits that some other rain jackets have (I know heat pools there, but I’m not going to walk around with my arms out to vent that heat. The side slits work better for active use) and the multi-layer design really helps to pull internal moisture away. I haven’t tried the jacket in a storm or extremely heavy rain (so I can’t say for certain if it would protect in a hurricane or not - if that’s what you need it for) but it definitely is %100 waterproof for the rains that I’ve been caught out in.
