Excellent functionality
My story with these trousers began with an incident- a seam came off the first time I wore them outside. The store proposed to exchange them, but I decided to bring them to a tailor first. It was a 2 minute fix and I am so glad I didn't return them, because since then I've used these trousers during winter mountaineering and they've performed excellent for me. The biggest advantages are their lightness and the freedom of movement they allow. I also like the design which is pretty snug around the legs- no room for baggy pants when you have crampons on. During usage I was hit with quite a lot of wind a couple of times and wore them with a pair of long johns at -16°C and managed to stay warm on all occasions. They are not padded, but retain the warmth and bead off wind quite effectively. I could probably use one more ventilation zipper on the lower part of each leg, that would help especially in the warmer months. Also, the material used, tends to pick up dust and dirt quite easily. It's equally as easy to remove, though, so not a big deal. Overall these are my go-to trousers for the winter mountain and am pretty happy I saved my pair.

Great for cool and cold weather activity. I use for bike commuting, winter fat tire biking, cross country, running, even around the gym. They’ve moved into the “wear them anytime I can on the weekend” phase. Tough material but still soft and springy. No sign of wear after 5 months of hard use. The Bergtagen line is pure gold; wish I had discovered earlier.

Stylish and functional
These are a wonderful combination of style and comfort. I can hit the mountains and snow kite then wear them straight into the office. They are comfortable and fit well into both environments. Great to have a pair of pants that doesn’t look like it’s supposed to be on the trail but acts like it. The feature I miss though is a pocket for my phone. I wish these had at least on unobtrusive cargo pocket.

Athleisure and Technical Brilliance
The technical fabric on these is second to none; Light, Durable, comfy, and very stylish compared to other competitors' offerings. The stretch on these is so unrestrictive I barely noticed them at any point while working and was even impressed with how easily they brushed off abrasive impacts. I'm very much in love with the black colorway as I can easily pull it off with my more casual outfits without looking too outdoorsy. Fjallraven continues to produce what I consider "if I could only have one pair of" items and this is no exception.

MVP pant for sure
The Bergtagen stretch pant is awesome. I just picked up my 2nd pair in black. The material is stretchy but in a strong industrial sense, yet still light and easy to wear. They are my go to for adventures and traveling as well as just normal life. It took me only a few days to get use to the pockets. There are 4. The lower 2 are smaller and zippered and are perfect for small light items. The top 2 are bigger and zippered and just big enough for a normal size Smart phone and the pockets are strong. The pockets in general are conservatively sized which I like. Carry less BS and think about what you really need.

Very Good...Could Be Great
I used these pants three days in a row: rock climbing (Rumney), ice climbing (Crawford Notch), alpine climbing (Mt. Washington). Pros: Fantastic mobility and breathability across a variety of terrain and temperatures. Good pocket placement. Very durable. Cons: 1) The zipper on the elastic cuff doesn't stay closed when the pants are pulled over light mountaineering boots. The could be fixed with a snap closure at the base to secure the zipper when closed; or you could increase the diameter of the leg opening to accommodate boots. 2) The pant cuffs "ride-up" the boots over time as you move. This could be fixed by adding two loops inside the cuff to attach elastic cord around the base of the boot. 3) Little to no DWR finish on the pants. They dry fast, but absorb water quickly. You can add this yourself, but for the price I'd expect a better finish.

Almost perfect
First off, I love these pants. They are so comfortable that I wear them pretty much all the time. They are strong but so flexible. I love the clever spring loaded locking zippers at the base of the legs. It is a great feature that makes these pants one step better. I got these pants because I like to move. I am active and I crawl around and play with my kids. My wife found these pants and thought they would be perfect. They almost are. They are the best pants I have ever owned, but they have one flaw in my eyes: Lower pocket placement. The lower pockets are set on the back side of the leg. This is not an issue when walking. It is an issue if I squat down, which I do a lot. If I have things in the pockets they end up getting squashed between my upper and lower leg. It isn't a deal breaker but is a bit annoying. If these pockets were set on the front of the leg then they would be perfect. But as I said, best pair of pants ever. Looking forward to trying some other style pants as well.

Outstanding pants for hiking and general wear Comfortable for those who prefer a slim look Have 2 pairs 32 and 30-31 I am in between for all pants The 30-31 fits better especially with the elasticized waist; but the 32 is OK If you are between sizes buy the smaller version Expensive but worth the investment

One tough pair of pants
In today’s environment people are wanting to go lighter and lighter , but not sacrifice durability or toughness, well these pants are the answer. I live in Utah and have been using these for my everyday go to. Either going to the store, walking the dog or scrambling up a rock face. They are so light and tough. The stretch material with a touch of elastane is perfect for high steps and freedom of movement. If they get wet from snow or creek crossings they have dried much faster than other pants I’ve worn. I highly recommend these light weight jogger style yet super durable pants.

Super comfy!
This was an impulse buy for me. I was looking for a comfortable durable but not super technical pant. This fabric is very comfortable and I was also surprised how water resistant it is as well.
