The Five Ten Maltese Falcon Race Clipless Shoes are designed for the pragmatist in all of us. Clipless pedals are faster on just about any race course, but there’s still something to be said for the confidence-inspiring nature of being able to drag a foot and get it back on your pedals, fast. The Maltese Falcon straddles this line well. You can run clipless or flats, and even if you choose clipless pedals, you’ll still get all the benefits of the Stealth S1 rubber on the outsole. It’s sticky and tough, so if you miss a clip, you won’t be SOL. Underneath the rubber is a stiff shank that both transfers power effectively through the pedals and protects your foot in the event of a crash. Finally, the Falcon gets updated with a second hook-and-loop strap, to the joy of riders everywhere.
