Love these pants! Except…
I loved the Vianna shorts, so it made sense to try the pants when I needed some for a trip. I love that they can be rolled up, and the fit was as good as I expected! EXCEPT at the waist: they were a bit large and I kept having to hike them up while I was trying to hike! And the belt loops are so narrow that I can’t find a belt that will fit through them. That annoyance unfortunately makes me think twice about wearing them, despite the rest of the great fit & features.

Perfect hiking and travel pant
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I brought these pants on a hiking trip in Europe and wore them for honking in the mountains and dinner out at night. They are perfect for both. Easily washes and dries fast. Perfect protection from sun and bugs and heat. Great pockets and move ability. I’m ordering another color!

Recommend a Drawstring
I really like these pants. They work well at keeping mosquitos away. As a large-hipped, small-waisted person, I needed a belt. The "belt loops" are very narrow, so what I ended up getting was a drawstring.

Fits well!
I was a bit concerned when I first put on pants. I have the problem where my thighs are always too big to fit the pants. With my one leg, it felt like I might have to return. However, once I fully had the pants on, the waist line was perfect without any tightness. The thighs are a tad snug. let's hope this goes well as I trial it around town. I will ost an update.

Safari Pants
Bought these for a Safari for the bug shield. The second plus…very cute on…much cuter than the picture depicts. Really nice fabric as well.

No ticks on me
Went hiking on a 5 day trip and I was the only one without a tick on me. Had pants, shirt and socks that had the BugsAway in them on. Lots of briers and no snags or holes in the clothes. No problems with my sensitive skin. These pants fit a little big which I like for movement. They are light weight, great for summer. There are no secure pockets though so I would suggest those. Love these pants and will probably buy another pair.

Considering getting an additio
I love the Vianna shorts — bought 4 pairs last year! — and am just as pleased with the pants. Any stains wash out easily by hand or machine, and the fabric can either air dry or go in the dryer. Love these!

Best for insect/sun protection
For years I've routinely sprayed my clothing with permethrin, which worked quite well. But re-treatment is required every 2-3 washings (the product ways 6 washings, but not true). For the money spent on permethrin refills, it was worth getting these BugsAway pants. When others were being bitten by black flies, mosquitoes or horseflies, I watched them buzz around & fly away without settling. The 50 UPF & nylon fabric are big plusses, especially for traveling. The reason for not giving 5 stars: 1) The hips fit fine, but the waistband was 2" too big & had to be altered; 2) The stretchy fabric is really nice for range of motion like scrambling over boulders or steep pitches requiring a long stride; however, when the fabric gets damp with sweat, it seems to lose its elasticity. Even tho the waistband was altered, the pants stretched out & slide down. I'll need to use a belt to keep them in place.
