Well Designed and Dependable
I bought this to place a 20 year old Eureka tent (different type). Setting it up was easy, did a dry run in the yard and it went up easily and is well made. Went on the first camping trip and it performed well, a night of rain and no leaks. Very pleased!

Great tent
I have used this for several years now. I also have an old four man Timberline outfitter. As I am usually by myself, I appreciate being able to set this up with speed and ease. It is a palace for one person! Though I do not cook in my sleeping tent, there is enough room for my camp stove, a small table and a chair, as well as my cot, so I can even make my morning coffee inside, should I so desire. Comparing it to the older model, I have two complaints. The first is the redesign of the door zips. On the older one, I can unzip from the top of the triangular door, allowing me to have an opening at the top, and privacy at the bottom. The new door unzips from one side, so I no longer have that versatility. The second is that there has been a mesh panel inserted into each of the sides of the tent, which have no provision for closing. I camp in very cold weather sometimes, and would like to be able to retain more heat. I am aware that some new campers often have condensation problems until they learn to vent their tents properly, and I suppose this measure was taken to prevent complaints stemming from that. I just wish that I could have this terrific tent without the new changes to the door and walls. That being said, the tents have performed wonderfully, feel almost bombproof in the worst weather, and never have leaked. The vestibule is also a good investment for increasing storage, and giving me a dry place to sit and change from my wet shoes into my tent mocassins. This is a very high quality product!

Bug Netting has a manufacturing defect.
The bug netting has imperfections that seem like a manufacturing defect… when I received it.

Use with Scout Troop
We have used these tents on a week+ long trek through Zion National Park. We've used them for a week at a time in a Scout camp in Wisconsin where we had a couple of bad thunderstorms and a Scout camp in South Dakota where we had a hail storm. They stood up to those conditions - plus Boy Scouts in and out of them all that time - with no problems at all. We recommend them highly. Our 20-year old Eureka Timberline 4-man tents are still in use, but we finally decided to give the older boys (and the adults!) some extra room. We've had to replace the shock cords in those poles and re-waterproof the bottoms on some, but that's it. Pro tip: spread out the tent, set up the frame, connect the tent and the fly to the poles - and THEN put the bottom ends of the poles to the bottom corners of the tent and THEN stake them out. It's MUCH easier that way.

Bad build and quality control.
Bought this tent. Great tent easy to setup and looks very nice. However when setting up the first time it was missing one of the clips that attach to the poles, wasn’t even sown on. Also for the cross pole on the top one side of the slots was sewn backwards where I had to twist the piece around to make it work. Absolutely terrible build quality and the fact things like this can happen and not noticed is pathetic for a tent of this price. Not great. Well back to Big Agnes.

Awesome Tent
Haven’t taken it camping yet but did a practice setup in the yard. East to put up and seems to be very well made. Once this heatwave is gone, we will use it to camp in Pennsylvania.

Easy setup
It is quick and easy to set up. The instructions are easy as well. The only problem was that there were not enough stakes provided for the whole tent and fly. And a chart showing the best way to stake the whole tent, and fly, while setting up would be advantageous. The large doors on both ends were wonderful and the zippers slick as can be

I miss the old features
I purchased a 6 man A-frame Eureka tent in the 80’s and used it for decades, it had arched “window vents” near the base that were great for summer camping allowing a breeze across the sleeping level which was much nicer than the tub design that virtually all tents have now. Just don’t set your tent up where a stream or pond is going to form. I wish they would bring back that feature!
