Why We Like The Dynafit Ultra 100 GTX Trail Running Shoe
Built out yet nimble, the Dynafit Ultra 100 GTX Trail Running Shoe gets us through the finish arch swiftly. Constructed with Dynafit's Heel Preloader design, this pair hugs our heel for shift-free strides, while the ghillie lacing helps keep our foot locked over the plush platform, and the max-volume fit gives our feet room to swell as we tick off the miles. Whatever we stride over, the sticky Vibram lugs secure our strikes and toe-offs, ensuring no energy is wasted, while the highly breathable GORE-TEX membrane shuts out water and mud, so our feet don't prune and blister.

Solid Shoe/Short Sizing
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I have a pair of Dynafit Alpine shoes in a size US 12 and they fit my narrow and pointy foot well. However, the upturned front of this Ultra 100 shoe, combined with a stiff upper due to the Gore Tex lining, made this shoe about a half-size shorter than my Alpine shoes. My toes hit the end. Had I known, I would have ordered these in a 12.5. But Backcountry.com doesn't carry the 12.5, only the 13. I returned them for a refund and purchased a pair of Scarpa trail runners that I hope fit my skinny, narrow feet.
