Living up to its name, the Ground Control provides unparalleled response and revolutionizes carving. This boot provides the power and precision of a hard boot—while still delivering the enduring comfort that makes a softer boot so appealing. It was developed with input from both Deeluxe's alpine and freestyle team riders to deliver the best of both worlds. Boa dials provide zonal lacing to tighten the upper and lower zones independently, while the Powerstrap further secures the fit for added support.

I'm so excited to try these boots and am giving it 4 stars because of the style and initial fit. I've wanted a pair of Deeluxe boots for quite a while and finally got a pair. I've always loved a very stiff boot when it came to my soft boots. I've had a couple Burton Ion HD's, not stiff enough. K2 Thraxis was pretty good but feel the liner packed out too soon. I picked up some Ride Insanos for this season in addition to the Ground Controls and excited to used those too. I've ridden hard boots before but ironically they were too restrictive for me. Lateral stiffness was the biggest problem and I'm hopeful the soft upper will allow that fore/aft weight shift I like for all mountain terrain. I will be using these Ground Controls on a Nidecker Proto 62 which is a very playful freecarving/BX board. Race plates are best suited for its 225mm waist width but race boots didn't match well with the Proto's playful nature. I usually wear Mondo 26.5 (US 8.5) but had to go up to 27.0 (US 9.0). Sizing handshell boots can be a little different and I feel relies on an empirical measure such centimeters vs typical shoe sizing. US sizing comes up short here because one company's 7.5 is another's 8.0. Nothing new if you have ever shopped for ski or snowboarding boots before. Having absolute comfort means the difference between a phenomenal day and a bad one. I hope to update this post once I get them out. "Hey, can we please get some snow over here, please?!"
